I think it was a little of that and a little of the previous reasons. Or to be more specific, it's because of her relationship with Arshtat that gave Sialeeds the outlook on life which ended up with her taking the actions she did. She seems to be a rather pessimistic type, which lead to her being unable to believe the Queen could take care of things herself. So, of course, she decides to do things her own way, by having the Barows and Godwin house troops both be cast as traitors and then annihilated.

If you accept that the Barow and Godwin factions had to be destroyed if there was going to be stability in the future for Falena, then her options were very limited. If she had left it for Lym to do after the war things would have been worse, probably another civil war since it's unlikely that the Barows and Godwins would willingly give up the power they have. There are obvious problems with assassinating them, and the public isn't going to be happy if you start beheading anyone who poses a threat.

Thanks to Sialeeds the Barow and Godwin factions were ruined, with no repercussions for the future queen. Perhaps there was a way for her to do it without prolonging the war and having thousands of soldiers die but in the end her decisions and actions are very human.

If they were very human, maybe she could have stopped laughing maniacally and putting in a little more than obscure hints. She could also have finished Gizel and Marscal and there would not have been a Godwin faction left. The families could have been taken out of power, it is a really ridiculous notion in a civilized society that the threats must be destroyed. And how is it that the war will not hurt the reputation of the Prince and Lym? You are giving way too much credence to the game's explanation. We need not take what we are given, if it is on such a flimsy basis.

No, I'm going to go with "evil aunt wanted a taste of the power she had lost". That's human motivation for you.

Nobody ever said that there WERE no repercussions from the actions taken during the war. It's simply been said that Sialeeds believed this.
