I suppose they could do that. But it would make more sense (and I think it would be more interesting) for Konami to make a Suikoden game in Zelant with Levi, Norma, Ernst and the Lindwurm mercenary brigade continuing their story in it rather than ditching them out entirely since they have had some adventure in there, according to Suikoden V's ending. That would only happen if the timeline for the said game is somewhere near Suikoden V. |

To be honest it also depends where the game is set, if it's set on the western continent, then it doesn't matter a great deal of whether it occurs before or after Suikoden V. If it does go after the Suikoden III timeline, then we'll probably end up going down the Albert Silverberg route, if not then because we have no idea what is there, Konami is relatively free to invent and do what they want with the game, it's quite a good situation for them if they leave the northern and southern continents, which I expect they will personally.
Besides, I don't see Suikoden working towards a certain point in time at the moment, it seems to be just random wars all over the world without any large objective at the end, I suppose it keeps us guessing, but it's rather annoying to not be able to see the light at the end of the tunnel.
I'm not bothered about what time it is set in as I just said that I have no idea what going forward after Suikoden III will accomplish, I would like however to visit the western continent or at least a different set of lands to the northern and southern continents which we've played to death by now. |

For some reason, I think Suikoden 6 will take place after 3, but only by a few years and in a place that has been mentioned in previous games. I just wish we can get the official word. _________________ "...." - Any silent Hero

Hmm... I'm guessing it's going take place in the Western Continent or the Nameless Lands and it might be a another prequel. I have a feeling that Post suikoden III is near at the end of the series, just a feeling though and I'm probably wrong. _________________

With the previous ones they made some small claims of that land you never heard of but would be used in future games. Like in suikoden 2 a kid in Radat says that he is from the island nations. Also they talk about the flame champion in that one. Actually suikoden 2 even talks about Falena in it as well. Suikoden 1 talked about the city state of Jowston and that was where the second game was. I would not be surprised if it took place in Kannan (Not sure if i spelled it right) because that is the only placve in the games that hasn't been used in a game (Maybe camaro as well) _________________ Suikoden Underground.

Is there a country south of Falena? I haven't the played the fifth game yet so I have no clue if some country is mentioned to the south, I just noticed some pattern from the five main installments, and it gave me an idea that VI might take place there _________________

I personally would like to see a sequal...(I really want a sequal!) ALthough I have to say if I had to pick anywhere for the next game to take place how about Zelant it sounds like a cool new place that doesn't have much information. ( Just like Falena did before Suiko V came out, although a bunch of other nations don't have much information released on them either.)
So I want Zelant! _________________ IN AMERICA! |

Unused lands include (feel free to chime in if I miss any): Nagarea, Old/New Armes, Zelant, Katana, Gaien, the Western Continent, Kanakan, Kooluk (mostly unused), Highland, the Badlands, Tinto (mostly unused), Camaro, Harmonia, and the "Nameless Lands". I doubt Konami would drop us in an unheard of land or somewhere we have already visited, so that narrows it down a bit, I think. I say, the Western Continent or Katana are most likely, but we'll see. _________________

A little bit dissapointing when a whole country only consists of their capital and a small town at the east end of the country... _________________

You're forgetting Kyaro Town. :P Although I agree, it was an amazingly small country considering the amount of damage it does to The City-States of Jowston. |

Gaien and Kooluk (kooluk in its absolute entirity are both in 4/Tactics, a chunk of Harmonia is in 1, highland and tinto are in 2, and quite simply because they're just small countries. tinto is a miniscule mining colony, why would you expect a game to take place soley there? every country in the games so far have had some involvement, although personally i'd love to see something happening at the same time as a conflict from one of the earlier games. have events from one result in events in the other sort of thing. _________________

Actually, it is never stated that we have seen any of these places in there entirety, but by looking at the map, we have not seen Gaien or Tinto fully. Gaien is a decent sized island. All we saw was one little island seperated from the main area. Tinto is not just the mining town with one city. Also, I was referring to areas that had enough unexplored area left to potentially spawn a game, so Harmonia is not out since we have only seen one city and a palace (aside from any potential area covered in the gaidens). And I doubt Highland is just two towns and a castle. As for Kooluk, I actually didn't play through Tactics far enough to see any of it, but my impression from what other forum goers have said is that it is vague whether Kooluk is just very small or is just not expanded on like Konami sometimes does towards the end of a game. _________________

By that logic, it could be said that there wasn't an entire exploration of SME in Suikoden I, since we didn't get to see the badlands bordering SME with Jowston, nor the rest of the Great Forest in the South. It would be said that we didn't see all of the Grasslands, like the area up north, that goes to the Outlands, or where its southern borders with Tinto.
So i think that it's safe to say that a sequel to Suikoden will not take place in which there was a sufficient amount of exploration of the area. But we should see more of Gaien itself, in my opinion. _________________ Guardian of Greenhill & Devoted Protector of Oulan
