For those who have it, how is the BradyGames official guide to the game? I thought the one for IV was very weak and shallow, bordering on almost useless.
Even if it's bad, I'll probably pick it up, if only because I like to thumb through game guides every once in a while. You can't get the same experience printing out a guide from GameFAQs. _________________ One day I realized that sadness is just another word for not enough coffee. |

Personally, I like the guide, but as Sophita said, it could have done with some maps. Still, it's far, far better than Suikoden IV's strategy guide, and the walkthrough is well, and sometimes even cleverly, written. Furthermore, there's a pretty good bestiary, an impressive character section, and a directory of items.
All in all, not a bad piece of work. In fact, it's probably the best official Suikoden guide yet, although, admittedly, the competition in that category isn't too steep. |

There are some nice pieces of art of random enemies in the last ten pages or so, as well as various pictures of the characters scattered throughout the book. You can also see every character's sprite in the Characters section, but that doesn't necessarily qualify as artwork... |

The japanese guide came out a few days ago and is excellent.
Full of artworks (with a full page for each star and a lot more), interview of director, game director and sound director, even an updated history with the event of V and a very good design IMO.
I'm glad to see konami producing guides of similar quality than Ultimania's (FF and other square games official guides) |
