Right now, I can tell you this much - Sol Falena is located in that diamond shaped lake, the big one, in the north, and Lordlake is located down in that orangey circle. That's all I've actually converted from romaji yet, except for the town on the far east, near the water, which I've translated as East Rain.

Also of note is the neon-colored diamond southeast of Sol Falena, which should be the headquarters.

But, good grief, what is all that junk north of Falena? Is that yet another new nation? I thought Falena was the first nation south of the Island Nations...

Just a little landmass. I updated John Layfield's estimated world map a little bit based on data from a larger world map of Suikoden from the Suikoden V Collector's stuff (I'm going to upload it in a bit), and it fits in well as just being a chunk of land, probably highlands and mountains from the look of the maps I've seen of Falena.

Rough, not quite finished...

http://www.thevederate.com/suikoden/suikov/WorldBase.jpg

It differs from JL's version in the following ways:

· Falena moved south a bit and extra islands around the Falenan landmass added
· Gaien and the Island Nations moved closer to their relative positions compared to themselves, Falenan landmass and Kooluk.
· Kooluk 'penisula' from before changed to two islands, additional islands added to the east of Kooluk
· minor island details in the process of being added on the western coasts
· minor geographical details (rivers and shorelines) altered slightly to match the world map better

Edit: The world map I spoke of -

I'm rather greatfull to see a World map as Good as that. thank you very much for posting.

I'm rather curious about that western landmass as well, Forum Poster. I never expected there to be much aside from harmonia left to be added...not that I can complain!

EDIT: I'm also curious about that small peice of EASTERN landmass now. So much world left!

Well, we've known about the Western Continent for quite some time now. It was first mentioned in Suikoden III in relation to Zexen's trading partners. Albert Silverberg also secured himself a post as strategist in a prominent nation on the continent.

Of course, I, and by extention, Their Star.com, are also working on a large world map but there are many geographical nuances to toil over yet.

Well, to clarify, it was rumored that he did so.

Holy crap! That's one huge world map! Is almost all of that available to be explored in Suikoden V, or do you think Konami is going to expand on the western continent for future games?

I think only Falena is going to be explored in Suiko5, along with a visit to the Island Nations. Konami is probably going to set up one more Suiko game near Falena, in Gaien, or on Kanakan before going off into the Western (or that Eastern landmass) or into Harmonia/Nameless Lands.

Still that's a nice world map there. I was expecting the Western Conetinet to be bigger, but maybe that's just a piece of it.

You only get to visit Falena and one island among the Island Nations in Suikoden V. There are involvement from other neighbouring nations, but you don't get to visit any of them.

Are ALL those orange icons towns or are they generic location markers?

I'd still like some names as well. Maps feel very empty without names. ;(

They're not just towns, but locations. Here, I'll post what I've done so far, but a lot of the places aren't even in romaji yet, and I've yet to anglicize most of them... I only started this the other night, but I've had a few assignments to do for school. Anyways, if it says "UK" in a place location, it means I haven't picked out the kanji yet - so any translations there might not be accurate yet (like the "Light Forest" which I just labelled there so I wouldn't forget the kanji meanings).

Edit, 3:12 PM EST: Just updated the map to include a bunch of new anglicized names.

Thanks - those actually helped in finding wordings for the kanji.

The map's been updated again... all that's left to do is a few romaji anglicizations and it's translated... The only place I'm not 100% sure of the name of is "Deep Dusk Forest" and I'm leaning a little towards "Deepening Dusk Forest".... I even removed the Japanese text from the map to make it less crowded.

As I haven't had a chance to play the game much yet (I've only played about three hours worth yet and haven't caught word of these towns), is there any chance someone could help me in anglicizing the following:

Heitritsudo
Haatsyubiru
Subenakusu
Sauronikusu
Gorudeisu
Doraato

I can't be sure on the romaji being 100% accurate on Heiritsudo (because I'm not sure how to represent the small tsu in romaji), but I'm pretty confident on the others. Also, if you believe I've made a mistake anywhere, please point it out so I can correct the error.
