Lorelai was in Suikoden 1. Georg was also created before Suikoden 1 was ever released (you can see him in the S1 instruction manual). And apparently Marie, the S1 innkeeper, is in this game. Or at least someone named Marie that looks like a younger version of her.

A character who did NOT appear in Suikoden 2. Every actual returning character shown appeared in that game (yes, even Marie, briefly).
Now that I think about it, Suikoden IV also did something similar. |

They don't seem to be on it, the pink/reddish one is called "Dore" something.

Not too many surprises here other than the fact that i thought we would have one more returning character. I really thought they would throw one of the more familar characters in there for the fans, but oh well. I am also surprised not to see Pesmerga or Yuber appear. Not that they would play a large role in the game, but just to serve the purpose that Pesmerga served in 1 and 2. I figured that we would have already heard something if they played a large role. But just to kinda stand there and allow you to recruit them based on the fact that they were chasing or being chased by the other. It would have been nice, but oh well.

Damn that sucks... I was kinda hopin we would get to use Abizboah or Vincent or some other characters I never used... just kidding. Kind bummed that they dissed us by keeping Morgan out... after so much build up about Falena and all.
Where did someone originally find out about that? Nothing in suikoden 1 says anything about Morgan in Falena, and it's not like he showed up in any other game. His ending justs stated that he "resumed his studies" or something super lame-ass and uninteresting like that.
I was kinda pissed off when suikoden had 5 mermaids who all barely did anything for you AND YES I am aware of the items, most of which ARE NOT worth the trouble... now suikoden 5 gives us 5 of those goddamned DoReMi elves?
Actually... 5 seems to be a common theme with these games...
Suikoden 1: five blacksmiths... remedied in other games via "hammer sys"
Suikoden 2: five "sqirrel" things... fortunately, the other 4 were optional and not worth the trouble.
Suikoden 3: five dogs. Don't ask why someone thought this was a good idea...
Suikoden 4: five equally pointless mermaids... come on, TWO would've been fine.
Suikoden 5: full circle... now we get 5 goddamned DoReMi elves, great.

Just because they're not on the list doesn't mean they won't appear. It's kind of sad when you think about it though. Yuber and pesmerga still aren't exposed enough for us to understand them...
Is anyone sure that the innkeeper is Marie? It seems that she's not on the stars list. As for the mystical and melodic Doremi Elves... I want to see screencaps! I really do!
