Sort of off topic but I actually worked on PS2 style dvd covers for Suikoden 1 and 2, so that all my games could go together in matching order.

The cover for 2 isn't finished yet, but the first one ain't too terrible.

Check it out...

Excellent, but isn't Suikoden a rated E game?

Yes, but most like if it were re-rated it would wind up being rated "T" for Teen.

Wow that's pretty awesome, I was actually thinking of doing something like that so all my Suikoden games could be lined up all nice looking.

Wow, that cover is awesome! I can't wait to see the one for Suikoden II. The only suggest I have is trying to put something other than a plain white background on (but if it's too difficult to make that character image transparent, I understand).

With the first one, the cover image was too low rez,
and the last series of digits on the bar code was wrong,
also I listed kb for memory card storage, rather than blocks.

Aside from the bar code, which i couldnt find for 2,
all of those problems have been corrected,
and I think the fonts look better.

So here it is, Suikoden 2.....

again, sorry for being off topic...but I just finished it and I was excited.

I have MUCH higher rez pics for anyone who wants to copy and use them,
theyre all at http://lackshmana.deviantart.com/gallery/

Split from the Suikoden V box art thread since it doesn't have anything to do with Suikoden V.

I had no idea where to put this, so if another mod thinks it's better in Fun Links or something, go right ahead.

Thanks for moving it,
and thanks to everybody for the compliments.

I'm actually thinking of doing another one for Suikoden Tactics.
I would have the original Japanese cover art in stead of the bland US cover,
and maybe two versions (one with each title - Rahpsodia/Suikoden Tactics)

WOAAAA !
Amazing !
I never understand how peoploe can create art like that ! I admire them !
I really love the Suikoden I box
Just one thing for Suikoden II : I think the front cover is too white , i mean the picture of Riou , Jowy , Nanami and co is a little too small for me . So if this picture was a little bigger the complete cover will be less white and i'll prefer it .
But everyone have different liking :D

But i admire you anyway! :)

Is that Riou on the back cover wearing a different outfit... with a sword? I can't tell.

Yep, that is Riou on the back in his Card Stories outfit.

A thought I had - as these games are set to come out on the PSP, you should make PSP box versions, that might look nifty.

Oh and, why not use the actual blurbs written on the back of the boxes. I'm sure they'd just re-use them with hints of added extras. I know it's hardly important but mentioning (fake) additions would look quite cool, especially for Suikoden I:

"Players now have access to the mysterious top floor in Great Forest..."

I have been wondering this for awhile, but is that blonde girl with her hair blowing Teresa? I thought it was her, but I wasn't sure...

That's actually Jowy! Hey... psst! (There's actually a rumor going around that Jowy and Teresa are related...go to the main page of the website to read the full story by SARS Administrator. I like it!)

I actually really like how Suikoden II's box art turned out...it gives me nostalgia with an added twist (the back cover).

I think you did an incredible job!! If Suikoden I & II DO finally get released in the US and the box art is crappy, I'm going to switch it for yours...muahahahaha...take that Konami! But wait, both games are in one case. Oh well! I'll just put the one I like the most (Part II! ) Keep up the good work!

That IS Teresa, dear (forum) brother. Don't believe the wandering ninja above me... ^^;

I actuallyl ike the Suikoden 2 cover above. I'd buy it is it was ever ou in that format. However, there'll be so much space left on the DVD...

Make sure you do Tactics, okay?
