I heard some very mixxed things about this movie. Some people say it's amazing. And others say it's the sickest thing they've seen. I want to go see it, but I can't find anyone to go see it with me.

However, I was just curious to hear others reviews of this movie. I heard someone had a heartattack, and someone else passed out after or durring this movie...sounds pretty good to me :/

The movie was half softcore porn and half gratuitous blood and guts. In other words, the perfect movie to take your kids to after church on Sunday, right? Hehe.

I thought that it was good for what it was: entertainment. I wasn't looking for a jaw-dropping story or brilliant acting, just a temporary escape from my day to see a lot of senseless violence. As far as the graphics go, I have to admit that its some of the best I've seen in a recent horror movie. Very believable.

Some of the deaths were (actually) kinda funny. *SPOILER* (nothing TOO graphic, promise!) The guy who slipped and killed himself with the chainsaw and the girl who got run over twice, I was laughing my head off (figuratively)! Maybe I was just releasing tension through laughter as people are prone to do when watching horror movies, but I couldn't help myself.

If you're looking for a good psychological movie with gore, I recommend "Saw". If you just want a lot of body parts flying off, watch "Hostel".

Hostel is clearly one of those movies people will either love or hate. I might like it, but I wouldn't see it in a theater.

I heard that the ending was said to be a really lazy and all too convienient. Oh well, nothing's perfect. I think what makes Hostel decent is that it seems different from most horror flicks.

I Saw, a really good movie in my opinion.

I may go see Hostel when ( if ) it gets released here.

How does Hostel compare to say...The Decent? ( another mindless horror movie, great! )

Yeah.. I really do want to see it. I just have no one to see it with :(. Honestly all of my friends thing I a sicko for evening talking to them about how it'll be a good movie. For one, the movie is getting a theater spot and it's a 5 million budget film. That is actually peanuts compaired to movies out around now that are like 150million+ budget films. er... I want to see it :(.

If you're at all interested in watching it, I would try to catch it on the big screen if possible. I don't think it would have the same impact on DVD. It's a one-time sorta movie, I think.

A little off topic, but since Viktor2008 brought it up, I'd just thought I'd make a mini-comment here: "Saw 2" was bad. A lot of people I know liked it, but for me it does not live up to the original. And the twist at the end was so predictable. *sigh* Really let me down. :| "Saw 3" was just greenlit, so I guess we'll have to see if it can do any better. Personally, I think "Saw" was good as a stand-alone movie, but Hollywood these days....

Agreed. Saw was great and although I haven't seen SAW II I'm pretty sure it's not as good as the original. Sequels always suck. Well, at least for Horror movies they do. Take Scream for example. It was a great movie for it's time...but they just overkilled it with Scream VIII: The Revenge...ok I'm making that up but you know what I mean. And what about "I Still, Still, Still Know What You Did Last Summer"? Did any of you see that crap?! *sarcasm*

As for Hostel I haven't heard anything good about this movie from my friends. Well this one guy said he loved it but only because he's a p#r^-obsessed nerd...so I don't' think I should take his advice on that. I'll probably see it when it comes out on video...I just don't have time to be going to the theater nowadays...

Hostel was an ok movie. It was more of a "wow that was freaky" than "scary" for me. I would have to say I didn't really get what was going on until it actually showed it goin down. It starts off with the 3 guys getting some European lady action and turing out to be targets for death. It has its nudity and blood. It was an ok movie. It didn't dissapoint me or anything. I just was amazed by it. I did like the ending though. Not many thriller movies have good endings, but this one did end bad in my opinion.
