In a way, that could be considered an interpretation of an angel or a demon, though I would say something less steeped in Christian mythology. The idea of being able to speak with the dead is present in many cultures. So are the ideas of "demon" or "angel" creatures, but with less inherent meaning behind them. Simply good or evil spirits from the world that the dead pass through...Yohn being basically good, and Yuber basically evil. I don't see any reason to call them anything other than what they are though.

I wouldnt say Christian is mythology, but oh well here I go... I'm not saying Yohn or Yuber are angels or demons , I am saying in a sense, in the Suikoden world there are the equalivalent to angels and demons, and anything form of "gods and godesses" myths, you've heard from Greek or Norse,in the Suikoden world, I really cant associate Suikoden with religion , being that Suikoden is one of the few rpgs I know that does not deal in religion.. see being that this world that Yohn is from, and possibly Yuber and Pesmerga are from, this is a world that people in the world are bound to go to once they die? and if Yohn is any kind of being of high signifagance in this world, wouldnt that make Kyril in a sense a demi-god? the fact that Kyril doesnt age like normal people do, which is part of his inherit from Yohn being this being from a higher plain of existence.. what if Yuber is somesort of "fallen" being of this world? much like Saruman and Sauron were in Lord of the Rings?
again this is just a theory, I thought I'd share with you guys, after I had beaten the game, it made me wonder about these things.. |
