|
|
Rakuten is one of the many news portal sites, but they posted news that promotes Suikoden 5. Here's the translation.
An Epic RPG infused with a rich, vibrant plot
Released 10 years after the first "Suikoden," (in Japan-- 1995) this new installation takes place at the Queendom of Falena--a land of many rivers and vast forests. The destiny of many people intertwine around the prince of Falena over the fate of one of the 27 True Runes, the Sun Rune.
Having the longest and deepest scenario within the seires, the story imbued with treachery, resentment, and redemption will create a moving experience as the hero and his 107 comrades gather.
Personable characters, large and varied towns
Many characters with a wide variety of experssions!
Famous voice actors en masse!
Explore the world map and dungons with a top-down camera view that maximizes playability. The number of towns and dungeons exceed all other installations in the series. There will be a number of hidden dungeions.
Also, growing headquarters will be back! It will grow as you progress the plot.
Evolved battle system and skill system
The unique Suikoden battle system where multiple characters attack at once has evolved, adding new features. Your formation can be changed during battle, which adds a new layer of strategy. As fans wished, the 6 member battle roster will be back! Your party can have a maximim of 10 members including your convoy. A new skill system will also be introduced that would give added uniqueness to each character.
Many hours of gameplay and replayability
In addition to having the longest scenario, the game will have multiple endings including bad endings. The plot will branch out in many ways depending on the many choices (most numerous among the series) made by the player, giving new discoveries to players upon every additional playthrough.

Well well, sounds promising, doesn't it?

YES! Good news all around!
Multiple endings? Good!
Hidden dungeons? Good!
Growing headquarters? Good!
Longest scenario in the series? Good!
Jeane's new costume? Not confirmed yet, but most likely good! _________________

Wait if I die now I won't be able to play it. I'll hold off on that for now :D
Anyway, great news. I also liked that it clariefied you can change your formation while in battle, not just outside.
Thanks SARS |

Sounds amazing. Im pumped. Only one question: 10 years after the first suikoden? Wouldnt that be 8 years after II? Does that make any sense?

Anyway, sounds absolutely fantastic. I cant wait. _________________ I'm JOHN HANCOCK |

You cannot believe how excited I was when I read that the game has more locations than the whole series. |

That must tell us that Falena is a very big nation, possibly bigger than any other nation we've fully explored in the series (or just that we visit more of the smaller towns). |

It's talking about real time, the first Suikoden was released in 1995 it is now 2005 making it 10 years, don't worry I did a bit of a double take too when I saw that. |

Cool news, however I'm little confused with multiple endings thing. In case of multiple endings there is always problem which one is this true one and in such coherent world of suikoden wouldn't it be hard to implement diffirent endings? Of course in all Suikodens is something like bad and good endings but here it looks like they are making big thing with it. But lets hope that they know what they are doing...
I wonder maybe diffirent endings are connected with those families in Falena, maybe we would be able to choose which one we want to take over the throne....of course those are only speculations. _________________

Suikoden 3 allowed you to decide which of the three heroes got what Rune
and became the Flame Champion, but it was obvious which path was "official."
I imagine that they will be pretty clear on which ending is genuine,
and the other endings will be more for fun and replay value.
On the other hand, maybe not.
But I have faith in em to do it in a manner that doesn't conflict. _________________ "............yo!" |

Sounds very ambitious. I'm a little worried about how the things that are new to the series (substantial sidequests, story branches) will pan out in the final product, though. |
