On the main Konami blog, Hitomin (the same place where the report about the 6 lucky playtesters was posted) there was an article on a big Suikoden V opening event held in Tokyo. Most of it is uninteresting but at the very end there was a paragraph thanking all the fans in Japanese AND IN ENGLISH. Reproduced as follows...
"Also, thank you very much for commenting from overseas countries about "SUIKODEN V"
I will try to bring you the latest information in English near future.
So, please continue accessing King Blog and HITOMIN !!! "

That's reassuring. I wonder if they're gonna try that on the next Suikoden. It's definitely an enlightening update. Thanks very much for relaying that information, melange. It's about time we get soemthing we could easily understand. It's also nice for those who have to do all the translations. It saves time... But do remember, we have to keep on the lookout for unrevealed information during their translations. They'll definitely not add soemthing in the translations... :mrgreen:

I heard that was something that shouldn't be done in game companies. It's supposed to be a law that they shouldn't get ideas from public sources and just be original. I remember Sars giving an explanation on why this should be. But i don't remember...

Not true. Silent Hill team changed Silent Hill 3 to what we got because fans wanted a continuation from SH1. SH5 was originally supposed to SH3. They listen to fan feedback all the time. Why do you think they did all of that stuff in SIV? To go with fan complaints.

They can take input and perhaps alter a game so that it fits what fans want, but they usually don't take specific ideas. It's not a law, but they do it to avoid any chances of a lawsuit or breaking a copyright.
I learned this when I suggested to the Lego company that they do X-Men legos :D.

You're on the right track. Melange already told us that there would be more updates, but no one has gone to check because the game is already out as you have said. Thanks for checking, though.
