I resurrect this thread because I'd like to know if anyone has started a petition to ask Konami to bring this PSP pack in the West (even US/English only is fine).

I played the Japanese version briefly and it's awesome: it's not stretched like Valkyrie, the music is absolutely faithful, you can move in eight diagonals... I think someone should really press Konami to give the green lights to a western release! Maybe we at SUIKOX should! :)

This is unfortunately true. I cannot recall to mind, in fact, a single instance where this has worked. :( My advice is just to get the Japanese one. :/

Yeah - I can easily beat both games in Japanese (i know because I did, on PSone) but... I'd love a comprehensible version anyway.

Are we absolutely sure Konami has no plans of bringing it here? It was released in Japan a year ago, iirc.

are these redone in any way, such as Changes outright or something good like translation fixes... because a yes to either of these will sway the time I buy them if no and yes then I will((disregarding sudden death)) be the first in line, and a yes and No means I'll probably wait a few monthes....maybe>_>. Also I only read the first page and not all of it so try not to dash my hopes and dreams to death and If it came out already Then I obviously haven't been spending enough time at gamestop....

Actually it was released almost two years ago. I think they have no interest in releasing it though.

To elaborate, it was released in Japan two years ago for the PSP but it was never (and never will be) translated for a foreign release.

Too bad.

Though, I'm also wondering what little changes were done to the game to make it different. Before the game was released there was all kinds of speculation on what would be added, and then there were stories of extra content being added, but then no one came forward to explain what was added. Not as far as I can tell.

Cause nothing was added.

Well, you can walk diagonally now and thanks to the widescreen you can see more of the sides but aside from that there's no change to the actual games.

Aside from the games there's an omake mode with movie viewer and sound test.

There was also the Saturn intro added to Suikoden I.

Konami would have been interested in releasing it, but Sony blocked it.

They used both openings.

And the Sony blocking is a rumour with no basis in reality.

Well, if Sony did block the release, that would be a damn shame. Of course, something tells me the DS would be a great format to introduce Nintendo users to the roots of the series. Just my opinion, of course.

I don't know about that. Suikoden has never been known for uber-graphics, and the original games are in 2D. Of course, this is all moot unless Konami decides that Nintendo is the better option for the series.
