Yes, you're right, wataru14. It's also suggested by Kornholio in the other thread. I'm just worried if the little problem is somehow overlooked and the formula in the war calculator was the wrong one. _________________

Oops, I thought fire tactics does x2.0 damage. I have all of this in the program, so I personally don't remember stuff, lol. |

These new changes are very innovative and add many new types of tactics compared with old system. The old system became bit too predictable due to having very few variables. The new system introduce many more variables and require greater amount of data mining. Having good information of enemy and your own nation will definitely make greater difference under new system, this is very good. I look forward for seeing how each nation use this new system (now that I am mercenary and make no tactical decision). _________________

Black Pesmerga, you just always have to take the norm of the damage result, whether it is positive or negative is of no import. |

I have a question about the allied army thing. Say Nation A hires Sars for a phase, and that same phase nation A wants to send an allied unit to Nation B. Could nation A take some of Sars' soldiers and allocate them to the allied unit and send it over to nation B, to be used just for that phase? _________________

Actually, fowarding on from that, can a merc be sent between two allied nations? I don't recall that being asked before.
I'm assuming the answer to both questions would be that it's up to the merc in question. _________________

I am not sure what you meant with the above, but tactics don't have weaknesses against other types of tactics. It's just a simple modification to the attack and defense figures. |
I know, what I meant was that if the opponent had some tactic other than wind, the calculations would be skewed because their defense would be messed up. |

Yes, taking soldiers from mercs, an allocating it to a regiment to be sent to an ally is okay. The same is true with sending your own mercs to an ally. |

SARS recently changed the Element Alignment because people were getting confused that the elements reflected an actual element. So taken from his original post in Tinto, the new types of tactics are:
Back Against Open Water - Fire
A Crane Opens its Wings - Water
Hiding Within the Shell - Earth
A Dragon Coils Around a Pearl - Wind
The Fast Arrow Pierces - Lightning _________________

I would take that to mean, the tactics do the same thing now, but have different names? |

Exactly, KoRnholio, it's a cosmetic thing due to the confusion with actual runes and such - the system works in the same way in terms of 1.5 times this and 0.5 times that etc. _________________

Yep, just a name change because too many people were getting confused with the name and thinking these were actually runes or something. |

(in response to a post that demanded that I clarify the name changes for the tactics, despite the change was made only two hours ago)
I have to make a revelation.
I HAVE A LIFE! Yes, it may surprise all of you folks out of school and on summer vacation or whatever (or in jail). I am 30 years old and work full-time (or perhaps, more than full time). I work so I can support myself and this site, for which nobody else pays a dime for. Now, sometimes I make updates to the site, but don't have the time to simultaneously update everything at the same time. In such cases, I BEG of you to not junp to quick, lightning conclusions that, "the admin isn't explaining things to us."
Likely I am battling trolls and demons out in the wild just to keep this site going, and I don't have 24/7 access to the internet either. I also have to eat dinner and take a shower, let alone go to sleep.
So back off, or stop taking that medicine.
And I'm not saying "Worship me!" or anything. I'm just saying have some patience. It will get done!! |

Showering is over-rated, Sars. Saves you 5-10 minutes right there. ;)
Anyway, the new tactics' names look pretty good, reminds me of a Rorschach ink blot test or something, heh. No, actually, it reminds me of Outlaws of the Marsh during some of the large scale battles in the 3rd book. I like em! _________________ ~~Harmonian Tenhei Star~~

Yeah, suuuuuuuure, Sars.... please don't banish me
The new regiment tactics names are interesting, because I have no idea what the bloody hell they are, so I'll likely just go for what I like the most. _________________ "Oranges can't fit into circles because rectangles are made of cheese." |
