While I agree that 15 years is indeed a long time to be a decent reason of a characteristic change of a character, I don't think that Konami would do it. The reason is that it's a game with fictional characters having fictional characteristics. When Konami created those characters, they put them with certain characteristics to differ one character with the other (or in some cases, some characters with some other characters).

Konami created Pilika as a girl who didn't seem to be the fighter type of a character. For them to change her to be a warrior type of girl who would fight would be a very weak move in my opinion. The reason is that there seem to be no justification on the characteristic change, especially since Pilika seemed to be so traumatized and all that. Unless of course, Konami created a whole background story on the characteristic change. Then, it could be justifiable, though I somehow doubt that someone who had been as traumatized as Pilika could ever grow up to be a fighter.

So realistically speaking, it's more likely for Pilika to stay as she was instead of having 180 degrees of characteristic change.
