As far as I can tell, with my admittedly limited resources at hand at the moment, Kidd's ending in Suikoden III is literally the only mention of the Black Rose Society in any shape or form.

As for character endings, GameFAQs would be the place to go for that, I feel. I know they have the Suikoden III and II endings in their respective sections, at least.

Yeah, Google'd and Yahoo!'d. I found nothing.

GameFAQs also has a guide for the individual character endings for Suikoden IV.

Any information concering Kidd should be looked at with suspicion because he tends to make things up.

I think what SARSAdmin intended to convey was that Kid had a tendency to stretch the truth in his investigations (point & case the Kid recruiting event was riddled with certain conclusions that were jumped to and over dramatized). I do think that the Endings are produced for the benefit of fans to give a sense of closure by the producers and game designers. I could be wrong, but I think I'm right.

Estella's phony ending would simply be "in-character". I don't consider that to be a good enough reason to disprove any other characters' endings. Similarly, Kidd's investigation of hers are equally unreliable, not because of his (lack of) skills, but more because of it is Estella.

To me, Richmond would have ended up with similar results if he was investigating Estella. She's not reason enough to favour one private eye from the other.

And don't forget Raura's ending. It claimed she went to a certain nation (that escapes me) but the direction it states she went in was incorrect, all fitting in with her character.

The endings are not written by the individual characters (otherwise illiterate characters wouldn't have endings, hahaha), but they do have echoes of the characters within them. Think of them as chronicles, like one person went around asking every Star what they were going to do after the war. As such, you get lots of legitimate results, like people polishing up their blacksmith skills, or working on their swordplay, or the ever-prevalent and generic "disappeared saying his/her contract was up/job was done". But you also get, from the compulsive liars and drama kings/queens, certain exaggerated endings. Estella the pathlogical liar tells the "person" recording the endings that she's looking for the 109th Star, Kidd says he's investigating the Black Rose society, etc.

Best explanation I can come up with, at least.

It could also be a very poor translation of Black Dragon Island group people of which Hai Yo was a member of.

Black Rose Society? hmm.. sounds like the Red Flower Society from The Legend a old Jet Li film, I dont remember seeing that in Kidd's ending about any Black Rose clan.. I remeber most of the endings in S3

Yeah, um... Black Rose What? Played Suikoden 3 front to back like 4 times and that never cam up ever. Where did you find it at?

I do remember the Estella comment about the 109th star... it's not all that far off though, when you consider Suikoden 2 actually having like 110 or 111 stars... you could just only get 108 on each playthrough... mind replay value factor... and some say Abizboah isn't even worth it. I think Valeria is alot better than Kasumi though.

Valeria is a better fighter, Kasumi offers more story value (plus you can get the other ninjas sooner).

Raura is said to go "north to the Toran Republic". Took me a second to figure that one out, but it did make me laugh.

For me, the ending most open to interpretation is Aldo's in S4. It is kinda implied that Ted killed him. I also liked Micky's, as it does explain why Reinbach's name kept popping up in later Suikodens.
