I have no idea if there has already been a subject about this but i will try any way
What dose every one think about this crazy anime? I my opinion it may not make much sence but it is still one of the funnyest animes i have ever seen next to Fooly Cooly. Excel is crazy and is almost always yelling and screaming (all most like me :D ) the things she dose are outrages and funny. But I hate Rico dang him he has nothing to do with any thing :x . why is he there. Lord Illamplatzo is cool but just as crazy some times :D . _________________

Excel Saga is probably my favorite anime ever. I love episodes such as the bowling one and the dating game one and the American animation vs. anime one. I terms of shear hilariousness nothing rivals excel saga imo. I'd also whole-heartily recommend the manga; it's quite different that the show. |

I love Excel Saga, I own several of the DVDs. It's great if you know a lot of anime, because there are so many references...of course, the best part about the entire series was SPACE BUTLER!!!! _________________

First episode was a riot!
I'm still in the process of trying to get this series, I've only seen up to episode three, so what Mrman says worries me a bit. Still gonna download them anyway. |

Aww, man... This anime was so frickin' hilarious! I loved it's crazy, random, stupid humor. Of course that whole Hyatt dying everytime was kind of annoying, but probably more so to me being an American, aware of South Park where Kenny dies in every episode Go figure.
Anyway, I thought that Nabeshin was AWESOME! I loved that little song he was singing at the end of episode five, since he didn't show up...
"I'm Nabeshin and I love my afro, it's easy to clean, I just wash it once!"
Pedro was also a great addition to the series. I loved how they had that "House of the Rising Sun"-like song added into all of his scenes where his wife is cheating on him.
NOOOOO!!!
I won't spoil what they end up doing with Pedro at the end, but it's unexpected, and rather hilarious.
I also loved that whole Puchu thing, and how they get ugly when they get smacked. The italian phrases also made things quite hilarious. Of course, this was in the English dub, that I thought was quite humerous, and done nicely.
Menchi looked like a cat, too. However, the dog singing a song at the end... Yeah, that is priceless. :D
It does help to have some knowledge of other animes when watching this. I saw original Gundam before this, which made one of the later episodes just hysterical. Had I not seen it, it really wouldn't have been anywhere near as funny. So, just be sure you have some background of anime, or it just won't be as funny for you.
When push comes to shove, this is one of my top ten animes. The mindless humor of it all is just plain great, and every episode has several humerous parts. The continuity of the episodes could use some work, but that's part of the anime's charm. The last few episodes do sum up everything, and bring some closure, so that's kinda' nice. _________________

I never laughed as hard as I did when watching Excel Saga volumes 1 and 6. After that marathon, it hurt to smile for the rest of the evening. My favorite episode is 23 where they spoof post-apocalyptic anime like Fist of the North Star... great stuff. Episode 26 was just a total free-for-all that I thoroughly enjoyed, though I heard a bit of controversy about it. Whatever.
But Excel Saga's mindlessness doesn't come close to its younger sister anime, Puny Puny Poemi, done by the same team that brought us Excel Saga. It was just 2 episodes, but holy *birds chirping* was it totally random! In the very opening scene, you can vaguely see Sailor Moon zooming in before Poemy beats the crap out of her. Then things get really out of hand, even making fun of Japanese pornography! And our heroine, Poemi (different from Poemy), has just as fast a mouth as Excel, if not faster. _________________ "Luca Blight, patron saint of population decrease." -- Benit, MST149

i've seen the first five or so episodes, and outside of the annoying voicover, i love it. the daiten-jin rangers was incredibly funny; it was the entire 'wtf' type humor-a plot that made little sense, yet still held together *unlike some games/shows we know of.*
a friend is getting the perfect (?) collection for me *very late xmas present...heh.*
i'm currently reading the manga as well; it has to be, along with sgt. frog, one of the weirdest mangas in circulation *that i would read-some are just TOO out there for my liking.* _________________ prinny...DOOD!

26 episodes, 25 of which are 'sequential' (if you can call it that), and the 26th is an optional, nonsensical episode that's included in the 6th volume of Excel Saga. _________________ "Luca Blight, patron saint of population decrease." -- Benit, MST149

I own Excel Saga, and I have to say that it is hilarious. I recommend it greatly, just...watch out for episode 26, all you people out there that are either young, or take offence easily at the actions and implications of animated characters...the title for the episode (Going WAY too far!) is quite aptly named, as it literally pushed and broke the boundaries of what could be shown on public television in Japan. Consider yourselves warned.
That being said, it truly is a great series, and I look forward to reading/collecting the magna when I aquire the sufficent funds to do so. _________________
