I was debating on whether or not I should create this thread or just post in the update thread, but seriously these guys deserve their own thread. I have to admit, 3 years ago, I thought it was going to be a total failure and just a total waste of time. Now they've achieved one of their smaller goals (suikoden 2 psn release), and on top of that, Top Sales in December. What's more to come?
For a few years it felt like the series was dead and now Konami is actually posting non-MGS and PES related stuff in their Facebook front page.
What are your expectations? |

My expectations with anything Suikoden related have become very tempered. Still, it was good to see Suikoden 2 become available for the PS3. The idealist in me hopes for a new Suikoden game in the main series' continuity, but it seems we are more likely to only get Suikoden 3 on the PS Store if anything at all.
Not that I actually contribute much to the cause other than sharing on social media sporadically. |

I'm doubtful we'll see anything like Suikoden 6, but I wouldn't be surprised with a handheld side game, more comics, or other re-releases of older games--Suikoden III for PSN wouldn't be too much of a stretch coming down the pipes in a year or so.
Who knows though--maybe they will revive the main series with a console game. If they do, I don't think it'd be like a main series game--but more like a total reboot. Not ideal, but I feel like that'd solve a lot of Konami's continuity worries. _________________

Chris, a friend of mine and the co-creator of the SRM, is tirelessly working with his folks to have more Suikoden related items. I personally don't really see a Suikoden 6 coming, especially in regards to the gaming sector decisions on Konami's side lately, but I agree that we may get other things and Suikoden 3 re-released is nothing to sneer at. I am pretty happy ^^ _________________

The SRM is now in the sad position of having to campaign for Suikoden IV. I wonder how excited they can get the fanbase for a remake of the game featuring Captain Hotpants Dual Swords and the blandest cast ever assembled in the series. |

On the bright side, Suikoden IV has Tree-san. _________________
