I finished the game. It got a lot better as it went on, still, I think some areas could definitely have been improved. The battle maps for one and the cut scenes for another. Overall though the story was good with a nice plot twist and so was the gameplay.
After completing the game you can do new game+ and if instead of resisting Gig you give in to him you can play an alternate storyline. It's pretty twisted shit though. Not as long as the main one (only 14 maps) but you get some different characters. I'm now on my 3rd new game+ now trying to get the last character but it's a pretty tough fight (I'm level 1006 and having trouble). |

Oh geez. I pre-ordered a copy but I still didn't go and pick it up. I hope they still have one for me by the time I go tomorrow. _________________

I'm going to need some money for this game, it looks very interesting. Plus, I just finished Tales of the Abyss, so I got time. _________________

This is one game I think I may just end up getting. At first I thought the gameplay was typical Nippon Ichi strategy rpg a la Disgaea but it looks like it's battle system is much closer to Advance Wars. I've always like those squad-based strategy battles. _________________

Like I've said before, it's most similar to the old Ogre Battle games but I suppose if you never played them than Advance Wars isn't all that dissimilar. Just that instead of attacking with a squad of all the same type you can customize the squad with healers, mages and warriors etc. |

Yeah, I read that part about customixing the squads with different units types from Destructoid's review of the game. The trick now is finidng a copy of the game. It looks like the type of game which doesn't get much backstock at places like Gamestop and the like. _________________

I have only played a bit of this game and was surprised when Gig makes references to Superman, the Flash and Martian Manhunter when describing the World Eaters. It gets me wondering whether these exact attributes also exist in the original Japanese version or does it has allusions to Japanese heroes such as Kamen Rider, Ultraman or Super Sentai instead... _________________

^ Oh man, I can't take Ultraman seriously anymore. Not after he married Tsuji Nozomi. xD
Anyway, I've played about 2 hours of the game so far. It's pretty fun, but the whole squadron formation thing is kinda annoying. I had no idea that a soldier couldn't attack in the back row... but it's kinda obvious. Oh well. But still, I'm enjoying it. Danette is kinda dumb, and annoying. And I'm liking Gig as well. I was gonna name the main character after me, but since he already had a nice default name, I decided against it.. _________________

I got soul nomad and the world eaters for my birthday last last week.
I love soul nomad and the world eaters it is really a fun game. some things about it remind me of suikoden, especially some of the characters.
My favorite storyline character is danette, i am not sure who my favorite non story character is, but so far its between the pyremage and archer. _________________ Suiko-Kya-Cross

Probably should have mentioned I got this, when it was still a new experience. Now I'm just a bum going about to create a view-all-endings save.
Anyways, I had a good enough time with the game. The story was decent enough but the characters and plot twists were pretty good. The combat was fun, except when enemies got number-bending lucky. The number of 1 digit survival was somewhere around 30 for me at endgame.
Evil Path of course, was awesome beyond all belief. And the bad end for it is the best bad end ever.
Also, screw the super-unit win end. SCREW IT TO HELL! _________________ Pizza Hut supports the rebellion!

Did anyone get the guide for this? I saw a really beaten up copy at gamecrazy for $25 (what a rip off, the cover said “limited edition” and I read that only 5k were printed or something) but I couldn't believe that gamestop said they never carried it and don't even have a sku for it, when was the last time gamestop was left out on anything games related...? Either way it looks like a cool double jump guide, and with it being so limited I'd really like to get a copy. _________________ SAVE A.D. - S.O.B.s

This looks amazing, kind of like Final Fantasy Tactics or Dragon Force! I need to learn more about it but I love the art work. |
Reminds me a bit more of the Ogre Battle games (which were great). |
My thoughts exactly.
The game is very enjoyable. _________________ Castle North Wind - A Suikoden RP! |
