Last night they put up part 4, which goes over Final Fantasy VI. Wow this entire vid just gave me the chills. I love that game so damn much, you wouldn't believe.

The other videos are good, but not nearly as good as the one they did for VI. They did that game justice.

Next week they're doing VII. Ohhh boy.

Oooh, thank you for posting this. I'm gonna start my afternoon off right, with some good FF videos!

Final Fantasy VI is far from my favourite Final Fantasy (which would be VII, so I'll definitely be checking out the next one), but I think they did a great job of summing up the game and highlighting its many qualities which in my opinion went on to be perfected in Chrono Trigger (my favourite Square game), I may have to start paying more attention to Gametrailors. :)

You really should. They're by far and wide the best gaming site out there now. They make all the other game sites look like a joke.

FFVII used to be my favorite FF, and game, period. But as I grew older, I started to become desensitized by it because of the milking. At this point I can't stand anything FFVII related at all and I pretty much hate everything related to the game now, despite once loving it.

The internet never made me hate FFVII. It was the whole milking thing that made me loath FFVII and the series.

I liked the anime and the movie, and they're the only two bits of the compilation that I've seen so I guess I'm okay with the milking of it to a point, I just don't like the rest of what Square has become, with all the absolute crap they churn out. Like the Mana games for example, post-Seiken Densetsu 3 they've all been pretty shithouse but that doesn't stop them from making the same mistakes over and over, rather then going back, looking at what made the old games good and improving on them.

I like this retrospective because it's nice to look back to when seeing the Square logo on a game actually meant something. To redeem Square now it'd take another Chrono sequel, a proper Mana game and maybe a FFVII remake. At least for me it would. :D

Yeah. It just makes me so sad how they've gone down the tubes. Square really used to mean something to me. :(

Yeah, I remember when i was little I'd spend a whole summer playing a Square game. That feeling is kind of gone nowadays. I'd love for it to come back, but until then I'll just play the older games on my Advance and DS. Final Fantasy and the comfort of my bed? Yes please.

I wouldn't even care if they remade FFVII at this point. It sucks that I can't even come to enjoy the first rpg - the most important game I've ever played - anymore.

haha, that was awesome. Final Fantasy VI is (along with Chrono Trigger and Suikoden II) my all time favorite game. Nothing like a nostalgic little look back on to it. I wish they'd focused a bit less on the features themselves and a bit more on the production and changes and improvements that were made to the series because of it, but it was never the less entertaining. Did any one else wonder why they played Final Fantasy IV and Final Fantasy VII music during the video at one point while not discussing either? >_>

Hear, hear! I'm going to have to go watch these vids when I get home--my work compy has no audio (which is really weird, if you ask me).
I put myself to sleep with FF IV every night last summer when I was out on the dig in Wales. I hear the music and I am simply awash with nostalgia...
I love VII. It was the first RPG I ever played and I still love it to pieces,. but I really think it's time for them to leave it alone. If they actually do end up remaking the game itself for the PS3, it had better just be a direct re-telling and not some new spin on th story GOSH DARN IT.

I love that they're releasing all the old ones on the handhelds. They're perfect for the protable systems now!

Nice. This reminds me how much I used to love Final Fantasy 1- Final Fantasy 8. I, personally, blame Final Fantasy 9 to the series decline. I mean the whole thing was abhorrent. Jeeze. Now, Final Fantasy 8 was convuloted but was actually quite good. FF7 was great though lacking at times. The other Final Fantasies before were, well, final fantasies.

Are you kidding me? Final Fantasy IX was the only decent Final Fantasy game since V.

I liked Final Fantasy IX too. It was a great bounce back from the pile of shit that was Final Fantasy VIII, which was really only crap because of Rinoa. Final Fantasy IX get's a lot of hate, and I'm not sure I'll ever know why, it had some of the best characters the Final Fantasy series has ever produced, and the story was one of the better ones too.

That and the Chocobo mini-game was kick ass.

I really enjoyed Final Fantasy IX because of the sense of nostalgia and the return to a more medieval feel rather than the focus being more heavily on technology.

I also loved Final Fantasy IX's music, some of it was top notch!
