Tinto explorers Sigismund and Shir ask for the help of the Katana onmyoji, Ashiya, in thier quest to rid Mautha of the evil Tower of Lepe. Ashiya agrees and instructs the Tintoans on how they can help him teleport all the way to Mauthe.
Having taken care of that, the three explorers plan on a way to successfully excorcize the evil tower. Ashiya suggests destroying a hill to the west to disrupt the magical flow which seems to be powering the tower. Shir and Ashiya head to the hill to destroy it, while Sigismund sends his owl familar, Timmy, into the tower.
Timmy enters the tower and explores the interior for a while, but is captured by accident. Sigismund enters the tower alone to save Timmy, but is ambushed and knocked unconscious while gazing at a dimensional gate. Sensing that his master is in peril, Shir destroys the hill, causing the tower to lean towards the west. After that, Shir and Ashiya leads their troops to attack the tower.
Shook awake by the tilting tower, Sigismund realizes he has been captured, but thanks to his skill he manages to escape from captivity, and soon finds Timmy in a bird cage. He is then met with some of Shir's troops who have penetrated the outer walls. With their help, he defeats archers that were givng Shir's mages a hard time, and continues to a large camber containing the "Heart of Lepe." There he is met by an ancient figure named Magnus, who tells Sigismund about the story behind the Heart of Lepe, warning him of its properties. Ignoring the warning, Sigismund summons a giant frog to make it swallow the Heart of Lepe. He then unsommons the giant frog, but this causes the entire tower to be cast into the World of Emptiness. Soon, Tinto troops with Sigismund start turning into monsters (because of being cast into the World fo Emptiness). Sigismund resists this effect due to his knowledge of summoning magic (but not for long), and manages to escape back to his world through a dimensional gate.
Although this results in sucessfully ridding Mauthe of the Tower of Lepe, Ashiya is left in the tower (and thus in the World of Emptiness), his status unknown. |
