The trailer's too jerky to watch and the movie's already been out for a bit hasn't it?
I don't suppose it counts either way if it's a Cthulu movie or not. Sometimes you just get movies of the same nature coming out around the same time (like Capote).
I'll be honest though, I havn't a clue about Cthulu or anything Lovecraft related so this movie could be about Barney and I wouldn't know the difference.

The worst part is that I can't use Quicktime on this computer, so I can't watch the official trailer. I just get to watch the lame theatre-seat-recorded stuff that's low quality.

There's really not much of a difference. I think the non-Quicktime version actually gives the clip a more realistic look to it. Also, J.J. Abrams has said in interviews that the Ethan Haas sites are not anything associated with Cloverfield. If those sites were the ones which gives the Cthulhu clues then it could be red herrings to throw people off from the real answers as to what kind of movie this is.

I have to admit, if the movie is about Chthulu, I will be a bit dissapointed. Mainly because they built up hype about something I'd never heard about until today, but in that statement lies the brilliance of the marketing of this trailer I suppose. |

Just wiki the name and you will be illuminated quite thoroughly of the greatness that is Cthulhu. It's pretty much sci-fi mixed with supernatural and apocalyptic settings. Plus, if you don't already know, Cthulhu is a ginormous alien being with tentacles growing out of his face. The Japanese h-anime scene alone could probably do wonders with that description.

I, like Axiose, am unfamiliar with Lovecraft. Still, based on the artwork of have seen of Chthulu, I can honestly say that he pretty much fits the description of a villain that could be in Japanese adult entertainment. Yup. Tull and I agree. Now we just need to find some school girls.
With another "Chalupa" coming out this fall, I am starting to think that the flick will be about something else. I have also heard rumors that it will be shot with a camcorder a la Blair Witch (damn you, preview). Of course, these are just rumors. I am losing interest in this film regardless, though. In my opinion, even if the movie turns out to be good, the backlash of going to these lengths to keep everything hidden will affect a good chunk of the audience.

Will your interest be peaked once again if the movie turns out to be some sort of live-action of that tentacle movie of all tentacle movies: Urotsukidoji: Legend of the Overfiend. If the movie, for some reason, does turn out to be that i'll be very impressed. :)

If it turned out to be that, I cannot wait for the live-action version of Ninja Scroll.
I'm already annoyed about the secrecy of the film. What if it turned out to be What Women Want 2 or Felicity: The Movie?
