So, you may have heard about this horrible family, these sad excuses for human beings. The Westboro Baptist Church is made up mainly of the Phelps family. They are the people who have been going around Boycotting the funerals of US soldiers. Not only are they against the soldiers, but they are against catholics, canadians, blacks, jews, gays, USA, and pretty much everything that isn't them. The BBS ran a special on them, where a man went and lived with them for a period of time. Sadly, youtube took them off their site (What else is new?) If you want any other information/videos on them, you can just type in "Phelps" on youtube, or "Westboro Baptist Church" on google. Just a warning, you will more than likely be offended by the views of these people, and the hurtful ways they express them.

These are the "god hates fags" guys right? the ones who also said the tsunami disaster was caused because of gay people living there, or the natives/locals accepting the behaviors of tourists.

so why do some people cry and cry and cry when someone makes fun of religion? well we have our answer right here. enclopedia dramatica coudn't do a bettter job hosting the "LULs of religion gone wrong" than the real thing itsself. It all makes me want to become God of America more and more.
when I am, then this church won't exist anymore. the'll like, become sweatshop workers for me.

I wonder what happens if their children get shot? if our army guys died or deserved to be shot for being gay then what happens? gmm. too bad the only people who kill everyone are their ilk.

The problem with religion is people can't just let it be a part of their life. it has to be a part of everyones life. People need to live and let live. Stop pushing beliefs, and recruiting people to your "cause" Religion is fine, if you appreciate it while appreciating the fact that other's don't have to agree with you.

Hey, don't worry about it. I think pretty much everyone hates the Westboro Baptist Church, even Christians (well, the moderate ones anyway not sure about fundamentalists). I know I sure do.
I find their philosophy absolutely disgusting. I stumbled upon their site one day while doing research on hate crimes against homosexual people and what do I see? "Hey look that kid is gay, let's go picket at his funeral and announce to everyone that he's going to suffer in Hell, never mind that it's totally insensitive and he was killed by people who really had no excuse to do it."
It's not only their prejudice against homosexuals that pisses me off. They also twist the Bible to their liking, they couldn't argue a sane argument if their lives depended on it, they are very rude and pretty much everything they say is garbage if not all of it. It seems to me that they don't do anything but to spread the idea that all gays should go to Hell, which really is not the biggest of problems for Christians.
These are the people that make religion look very bad. My Christian friends are disgusted at what they preach, because they seem to have twisted just about everything to say that God hates this and God hates that. People like them are the ones who will be punished in the end because they did use God's name in vain after all. :wink:

I had actually heard of these mental nutcases before today. Its clear they are some sort of insane cult who are borderline dangerous. Thats the thing about freedom though, you can be an absolute nut job.

But seriously what they are doing to the families of the soldiers is sick, and their unusual fanatic beliefs are clearly insane and most people would just ignore them.

They were in New Jersey yesterday of the day before. A soldier from the area had been killed, and they had a special on the news about him. The service looked beatiful, and a lot of people showed up. Sadly, 3 people from the WBC were there. From what the news showed, they were ignored. How family members don't lose it and attack these people is beyond me. I can't imagine the pain of losing a son or brother, and then have someone disgrace them, at the funeral, and throw it in my face. I'm a peaceful person, but everyone has their limits. The one video I showed has them being attacked, and they are escorted out in a van. Someone punches through the window, and it instantly filled me with joy.

Smart man, makes sure it isn't on camera. I assume he hit her in the face, judging by what she said. If he shot them down right there, I would visit him in prison everyday.

Just to make something clear before everyone goes down this road: on this forum, wishing for the death of other people just isn't kosher, capisce? Like them or hate them, go right ahead, but saying or strongly implying that you want someone else dead just produces a negative atmosphere that we don't need.
