Was this not already made and the main character was Christopher Lambert? I remember it was pretty gory but a bit bland (storywise) and confusing.

I just happened to see that on the library and borrowed the DVD. I watched it a few hours ago, and boy oh boy it really sucked. The acting was just one of the worst I've seen (yes, including Snakes on the plane) and there was nothing special at all about this movie.

On the other hand, the trailer of the new Beowulf looks to be quite impressive and FAR better than the Beowulf I watched with Christoper Lambert. Maybe I'll give this one a shot if people seem to like it.
