I actually would enjoy having another Jhee in a future Suikoden, especially if he/she was on your side. _________________

If there was someone who I was pissed about what happened to him in the game (and believe me, it has happened twice in my gaming life, the other being Green from Gunstar Heroes), it was Solon Jhee. For the short time he was featured in the game he became one of my favorite characters, mixing just plain bad-assery with his class "warrior way"-like honor-based act.
That said, I wouldn't mind seeing another Jhee along the way (even an younger Solon in another war in another country, being lent by the Highland Kingdom). _________________ Tinto: Kicking Asses is our Speciality

Solon Jhee like my wargame persona (Hamal Jhee) was a hot-headed general who would do anything for his country, even accept his death. The Jhee family is bound to Highland and will continue to fight under that country until it falls - the role we played in the Higheast rebellion I cannot tell you however I personally would die trying to see Highland restored before bowing to an outside ruler.
In all seriousness, it would be pretty out of character to see one of the Jhee family in another Suikoden... unless it were based in Highland or the Higheast. Like Solon I will never fight under another nation's flag or for another nation's cause, everything I do is for honor, for family and for Highland.

If Konami wants it, do you thing Solon could have survived his execution? I mean: could it work?
We actualy never see Solon die, he could have escaped his execution or the solider could have disobeyed Luca and released him. After all, the highlanders seem to like him. (Seed and Culgam were really pissed about Lucca´s orders) Something like the scene in the Gladiator movie, when Maximus escape his execution.
If that were true, it would be glorious to see him acting from the shadows, trying to restore Highland. He also meets the criteria to became Hugo´s father. I think it would be a fun surprise. |

He's confirmed dead. Although we've seen that ruling overturned before in the case of Barbarossa Rugner.
In game, I can't think of many attributes to give him reasonable besides jerk and incompetent. It's always Jhee who is rebuffed by mercs, rebuked by other officers for being wreckless and having his head hacked off for getting reamed. _________________ One day, I shall come back. Have to side with the Dukester there. I have always wondered why there are so many Solon Jhee groupies out there. Granted, he does look cool in his avatar and his name kicks ass but other than that there is little merit in him. During his screen time in Suikoden 2 he demonstated recklessness, arrogance and was easily outclassed by his peers and even by his direct subordinates. (particularly Culgan)
Maybe Jhee built an impressive record in the past but all we see him do ingame is fail. My guess is that his promotion to general was due to his family`s status rather than personal merit. In actual war, especially under the unforgiving command of Luca, Solon Jhee quickly proved to be incompetent.
Decapitation of unsuccessful commanders is actually quite common in history. Generals far more able than Solon Jhee have ended up having their head lobbed off after dissappointing their lord so while Luca may be a sadistic son of a b*tch his order to execute Jhee is not really that outrageous. _________________ So long! All he did was fail? He spearheaded the campaign all the way across to North Window before he messed up and was executed. It does state that he was promoted quickly because of his family connections though, perhaps not the best example of the Jhee household. _________________

Culgan: "Erm, dude, aren`t our flanks...like...too exposed `n stuff?"
Jhee: "Naaah, they`re just cowering in their castle `cause I look like a complete badass and my name is Solon Jhee! Did you notice how truly wicked that sounds: Solon Jhee, like: So long, G or something"
Culgan: "Allright. Whatever, man"
Btw: You mean it was officially stated that he moved up because of his families connections? Damn, and there I was thinking I was all smart for coming up with that.

After rereading my last post I realize I haven`t given any real arguments so here goes:
Solon Jhee may have been able to push the invasion of the Citystate to North Window but I believe this to be due to Highland having the momentum early in the war. Every time he was met with any organized resistence he was thrown back: not only at North Window but also at Muse where the city was only taken after Jowy`s betrayal and at Viktor`s mercenary fort.
That aside I do seem to recall him taking South Window without any trouble. Oh, wait: wasn`t that because Mayor Granmeyer surrendered without putting up a fight? Right, forget I said anything, then. 8-) (ahum) Like I said: an impressive record of failure! |

He did spearhead it, and with bravery and a bit of carelessness too (which lead to his eventual downfall). I still think it was over reaction, but at the same time I increasingly see it as Luca stamping his authority over the army. Kiba, Klaus, Culgan, Seed and Jowy were all shown what happens to even the slightest wrong step. |

It was also a grave mistake, I am sure. It's not far fetched to assume that Seed and Culgan deffected because of such an atrocity! _________________

Actually, it is extremely possible that Luca had his (Solon's) family killed after he and Jowy killed Agares. They were after all (I think) highly loyal to Agares.
I highly doubt any Jhee remains (well any 1st degree Jhee) _________________ - 108 Soldiers, 1 for EVERY star.

I don't think Luca had any reason to kill off the Jhee's in the middle of a war! An inadequate general? Why not? An obstacle? Sure. A family that poses no threat and does hinder him in any way? I just don't see him caring at that stage of the game (no pun intended). _________________

I think it's highly likely that it didn't matter what the Jhee family did when Luca became King. He seemed to have complete control over the bureaucracy and people for the most part, it wouldn't have mattered. |

Was Agares death seen as a murder though? I dont belive so - if I'm not mistaken ti was assumed that he died of natural causes on the eve of his daughters marriage. I'm certain that there were grumblins and possibly some assumtions made that the entire event was staged, but overall people would take it for what it was. If they'd wanted to make that a point, that there was dissention about Agares's death, they would have made mention of it via having Agares's supporters side w/ Jowston or stage some sort of rebellion or ANYTHING. Of course I suppose none of this would be known since we saw the battle from Dunan's perspective and not that of a Highlanders, but none of the Highlanders that joined you made any mention of it. The Jhee's, if there are any, most likely stayed in Highland and remained loyal to their new king...and the next... _________________

The Manga or the trade paperback whatever of Suiko 2 points out that Luca DID pin the blame for Agares murder to his most trusted aides which I assume would be that apron wearing general in the scene where Jhee was escorted to be beheaded. _________________ - 108 Soldiers, 1 for EVERY star.
