Hmm... when I think about it, unless it's on like M2D or something of the sort, it really wouldn't work that well. What's beautiful about "The World" (or the .hack// games actually) is that when you play it, it's like you're really in the game itself, and without that luxury, I don't think it would work, but we shall see... I will probably end up being either an Twin Blade or an Adept Rogue (Twin Blade + Blade Brandier + Tribal Grappler or Twin Blade + Harvest Cleric). _________________ "Oranges can't fit into circles because rectangles are made of cheese." |

i think it would be to hard to make a m2d version like the actual game and anime. would be nice though. _________________

Of course, and then people might be wary too because of the incidents that happened in "The World". Wouldn't it suck if you couldn't log out and you're stuck in the game in real life? Yikes!!!!! I don't want to go into a coma either. XD _________________ "Oranges can't fit into circles because rectangles are made of cheese." |

Ummma...sometimes I think that wouldn't be so bad.
I would SO do an Adept Rogue. *heart* I love cross-classing!
*shameless plug*
This is what I would be. :) _________________

Still, what if your house suddenly burned down while you're playing, and you can't log out of the game? Yikes!!! It would be quite an adventure, but it's an adventure with being able to log out nonetheless, so we don't need that "can't log out" crap! XD
I decided that I would be an Adept Rogue too. Twin Blades + Harvest Cleric is an odd combination, but I can make it workable. Twin Blades + Macabre Dancer would be even more odder. XD _________________ "Oranges can't fit into circles because rectangles are made of cheese." |

THis is true...but I still can't help thinking I'd like that in a lot of ways compared to my current condition! It would suck after a couple of days, though.
Twin Blade+Macabre Dancer WOULD be bazaar. Cool, but bizarre. WHat colour character model would you choose, Windy?
I need to draw more .Hack. _________________

An MMO version of .//hack? It just wouldn't be the same, because MMORPGs in general lack a specific plot and really, you must admit that you like the other happenings that occur in the 'real world' within GU. On the other hand, I'd still like to play a game like that since it has really beautiful backgrounds and I like the mythology behind the game.
Anyway, I'm just somewhere around the beginning of Vol 2 right now, because me and my sister had to finish up on a few more quests in Vol 1 and we got that game very late.
My first impressions of Vol 2 are very good, but I have one gripe. Lord knows how many movies I had to skip at the beginning because I'd already watched them before. Yata is also getting onto my nerves again because he speaks very slowly and he has had way too many cutscenes. Oh, and Sakaki is getting very annoying as well.
I like Crimson VS. I started off on a bad not because I had used the wrong set of cards against the wrong trend, but I'm up to 300+ ranks now and I have a lot of good cards. I need a General with higher charisma to make use of the better cards though.
The new type of dungeons are also fairly impressive. I made the mistake of choosing a hall-type dungeon to get my new keywords, which was 3 floors long and ended up with me having to toss out some of my equipment because I got too many Wrath Luers. On the bright side, Silabus is toting a newly alchemized Wrath Luer +5. :P _________________

I'm not all too keen on playing a MMO version of .hack myself...basically my opinion is the same as the reason why .hack//fragment failed as a game. And that's cuz everyone who likes .hack likes it mostly because of the whole plot tied with comatose players and Aura, etc, etc. To make a plain straight bringing over of .hack elements into an actual MMO well....I don't think it'd be even close to any of the more popular MMOs of today unless they did a major makeover of the features and of what it provides.
I'm not going to jump on the bandwagon and instead say I always liked the idea of being a twinblade.
anyway...back to the subject of vol 2
hall-type dungeon? you mean the trap dungeons? I'd call them more tower-like than anything but anyway, yeah those types of dungeons were rather amusing. I sucked real bad at the rolling rock traps everytime. Ya'll should've seen me the first time I wandered into such a dungeon. I was all "What the heck is this dungeon? *triggers rolling rock trap* AHHH!!!! INDIANA JONES!!! Except...there's more rocks here!" :*laugh*:
Oh and Luceit...I had a constant storage problem like...the WHOLE game...cuz like...I really like to hoard all the different kinds of items that you can equip on items/accessories so...yeah >_< _________________

That's exactly it. a .//hack MMO would be a bit above the rest of the current MMORPGs right now simply because of the franchise, but WOW would still trash it completely because it has more storyline. However, I believe that the guild feature would be a nice addition to any MMORPG. Come on, admit that you'd like having a nice virtual place to hang out in. I know I would.
What I really like about the series was how everything was linked together and how the myths contributed to the story.

Yeah, the trap dungeons. I thought it looked like a hall at certain parts, so the name stuck.
The first time I heard those rocks, my immediate reaction was 'OMG OMG where to go?' I got flattened by those rocks a few times and got cut a bit on the razors, but eventually I learned that sticking to the left when the rocks come is the best way to keep them from squishing you. Thankfully, my party members don't stand gaping at the rocks like an idiot, or else I'd be scowling like Haseo does. They did get hit by the razors a few more times, but that's part and parcel of being AI controlled.

Oh dear, that sounds bad.
Well, I didn't expect to get so MANY of the same weapon when I went in, but the problem with that was that I a) Severely underestimated the number of monsters in there b) Only had enough storage space within my inventory for a short dungeon and c) I forgot that I had the Dowsing Rod equipped.
I expect that I'll have to get rid of some of the things I can't use soon enough, because I can go around with both my inventory and my storage almost full. You could always give a few things to your party members to keep for the time being and trade with them when you need it back. It's what my sister did in vol 1 and it's quite effective.
I'm pretty much an item collector freak as well, so I don't think that I'm going to like the limited storage space available.
By the way, who here likes using the Steam Bike? I'm thinking of going to collect bike parts so that I can make myself a good bike, since buying them would be far too expensive. _________________

The bike drives me bonkers. For some reason I think using it is just a big hassle and so I don't--and then I realize that the ranks are falling pitifully behind everything else.
And I really hate how small the storages are in these games! ARG! I horde items, and I cannot do that in G.U. I'm always having to drop things and give things away because I am SO freaking overloaded. Oh well. _________________

Yes, I mentioned this game in an earlier post. It was really buggy and had the problem that several people also have mentioned--the thing that really drives the .hack games is the intensive, very personal storyline--something that is pretty most impossible to recreate in a real MMO environment. _________________
