A shame. It was one of the few that could be considered a "hero" of our time.

I, for one, am holding a vigil for this man. Well, I'm actually just having a beer and replaying Suikoden V...but the goat will be remembered.

May his wife rest in peace...or something. Sometimes things just go baaaaaaaaahd. Oh, God. I really do apologize for that.

What I find amazing about this story is not one person on any site I've visited showing this story has said "who cares?", everyone has sarcastically given their sympathies for the goat or made a joke involving hooves and horns (see Ujitsuna's post above). Seems people like their goats nowadays...

That's because this is just way too messed up a story to be let off with a simple "who cares?" or anything like that. I mean, if it were something slightly more mundane like a symbolic local ceremony that forced people to swear brotherhood with tortoises as a rite of passage, fewer people would care. Things like that are really a dime a dozen, although they are still pretty goofy to us because we probably live in much different cultures.

However, this... well, this is too good to true. It's horribly twisted, since there's a little more to it than the man just marrying the goat... and the extra twisted part makes it really hilarious to people like me. It's just too perfect, horrible as it is.

That said, with the wife gone, he now has to worry less about the ramifications of his actions.

Does this mean that farmers in the may now expect for this guy to come calling to court their own goats?

I'm sure that he was already sleeping around with other women.

I would like to call for a brief moment of silence (SILENCE, dammit I SAID SILENCE), for us to pay our last respects to this goat.

R.I.P. Rose, wife of Sudan Charles Tombe! Your death has been a tragedy, stemming from the evilness of plastic, as well as the irresponsibility of people not picking up things as such (PICK UP YOUR LITTER, DAMMIT).

Anyhow, rest in peace.

....

Okay, back to making fun of it.

Its just so... weird
Im so sorry for the goat, for real. I remember when 3 soldiers were caught taking advantage of a poor goat. Things like that happen... unfortunately. Damn, it so weird dude :*laugh*:

Rest in peace, abused goat :)

I'm guessing that they had no kids between them?

I'm late, I know. I don't even know if the story was still linked, but I couldn't resist tossing in my joke worth two cents.

I dont care how many constitutions or laws you have in the UK or US, you know a country is free when you can marry a goat.

But seriously that is FREAKAY! :D

Sniper Zegai is right. In the Sudan, you can totally mack with a goat. We here in America may criticize the government of the Sudan for being extremely restrictive and brutal and corrupt and so many other things, but it seems to me they give their citizens certain rights that us yankees just won't ever enjoy. We won't let gays marry, but the Sudanese government is so liberal they'll allow a man to score with a goat.

When will our country ever move forward?!
