Ok, it apparently seems that I am the only fan of the Circle tactic. _________________

Nonsense! Pent tactic fo' lyf! Actually, I could use everything down to twin tactic but that's kinda pushing it.
I really didn't need 6 characters because Muroon with S class water stat + Flowing rune + Magic Absorb rune + Healing Spam = YOU WILL NEVER DIE. _________________

True Men tactic, all the way. It is the manliest of all formations. |

I believe I used the Tiger Tactic. The 1-2-1-2, one. It really worked very well if you had Richard, or any other tank, or speedster in the front. That's because they'd get all the physical attacks directed to them, and they'd nearly always dodge, or parry. I almost never suffered physical damage unless it was from long range attackers. Richard is just a beast. ^^ _________________

You know, now that I think about it, this game pretty much lacked ranged and magic-based enemies. I like having that occasional hard time with normal encounters, but the only monster that gave me a hard time was that red dragon at the North Woods of Lunas, and that was because I was underleveled.
The Formation skills were pretty good though. Sorcery is pretty great in boss fights with it's magic boost to the last person, which in my game was usually Zerase, with Magical and Boost Runes, so you can only imagine how much damage she could do. XD
Most boss fights are a joke too because of the formation skills, so I opt not to use them. The True Men Formation's skill knocked the lights out of Bahram Luger in one round. :| _________________ "Oranges can't fit into circles because rectangles are made of cheese." |

Okay, I'll be the one person to stand up for the Sorcery Tactic, then. Don't get me wrong, I love the Illusion tactic but you get it too late in the game to have any real fun with it. The second you get Sorcery, and then you put Zerase with it [and slap a Magic Absorb Rune on her]? It's on like a steaming pot of neckbones after that, and you pretty much decimate anything in your path with it. Chain Magic FTW. _________________

Illusion tactic for me. It's formation skill was very useful for quickly dispatching random monsters you encounter on the way. Just one use of the skill and voila, the battle is over. It saves me a lot of time exploring places, especially those which have high encounter rates. |

I must have missed the illusion tactic, I used True men the entire time. The combo on it was devistating and wiped out all random encounters, making for easy leveling. For bosses it always took a good chuck out of their HP or finished them off outright. But then again I'm a habittual over-leveler, so I was generally tougher than i should have been at any given point in the game once given the oppertunity to level up. _________________

You can find the Illusion Tactic after liberating Stormfist by etering the West Palace. It must be in one of the huts there... with a lot of other goodies. Illusion Formation boosts all stats and you will see it during your fights with the monsters there.
