I think you can tell what my game preferences are by this list of my collection. Sega is my favorite developer, and my favorite consoles are Sega and Sony consoles. Nintendo consoles don't get much play from me and I mostly find them average. I think Xbox is a pretty damn console because I have lots of games for it.
My favorite genre is rpg, but I love all game genres, some more than others, but all game genres. My favorite genres are rpg, platformer, and shmup. I love a good rail shooter, shame those games are rare these days.

I have a pretty decent collection, but I plan on collecting more. I plan on getting more games for my Nintendo hardware eventually. Um...I might plunge and get a Turbografx-16, but it seems a lot of those games are rare and expensive, and I have a Saturn for that type of gaming so. Eh. I'm just now getting into imports, so this list should be doubled in about two years. PC is the main platform I plan on striving to enhance my gaming tastes and collection in the near future though.
Oh, and I need a damn Sega CD and 32X! Huzzah!

yeah, I looked around and can't find that topic anymore, not that I mind updating what I have after all this time.
I don't really count any of my games for the 360, wii, ps3, psp or even ds as a part of my collection since all those games at this point are just bought or rented to be played and then either returned or traded in, so they don't mean much to me and are all here today gone tomorrow before their value falls through the floor. I do own alot of PSP and DS games while I get to play all the fun new games for every system as soon as I can, so I do pretty much checkout any game that's worth a look. I'm also a huge sports fan so I'll always have the current in season sports games on hand to play with my teams (damn, can't find a store to get UEFA championship after just gotten rid of PE:WE 07)
I don't do any collection list things on any game site and I haven't took inventory of my PS one collection in a while so I may need to go back to do that, plus I'd be too lazy to list out much of the worthless PS2/xbox/gamecube games I own but here's some that are around so I took a pictrue of them:

the top shelf are new sealed games and promo stuff while the bottom ones are opened, I have much more stuff and more of certain titles laying around too but didn't really put them all out so I don't offened anyone... I'll work on making a whole list later on.
As I said before I don't really go out looking to take hard to get games out of anyone else's hands but sometimes oppertunites present itself and it's just hard to pass them up, for example:

I own 7 sealed copies of shadow hearts and paid a total $5.38 for them, cause 2 were free when I got covanent and the others as you can see I bought for $0.99 each, they are the promo copies but everything is the same as the first release(the case of my original copy is on the far left) except the title font on the seal is slightly larger and the bottom of the cover says: promotional copy not for resale. If I put those on ebay right now and just say "brand new sealed shadow hearts" games for sale I'm pretty sure I can fetch about $35-50+ for each one, but I don't really feel the need to do that now though some day there maybe a life changing reason that would cause me to do so, you never know.
Of course not every deal is that sweet cause if it was everyone can just buy and play games for a living, but to me if there is a great deal to be had I would buy more games than I need almost as a fun way to save up my money instead of spending it on worthless things.

There was a 'What anime do you own' thread which might have some people confused, since all these threads really do is provide lists and 'omgawd (insert minimal comment in regard to list here)' which is then recycled several times over.

I personally thought that this copy-paste stuff over and over threads were reserved for Nations Boards (I made a similar in Jowston while I was there) but it seems I was wrong…
Anyway I’d like to see more comments about our collections than simple repetitive lists. I would have commented on jjrrs “collection” but I’m afraid I would start a feud and we had enough of that in the other thread.
So let me set the good example by commenting on some people’s stuff.

Most of the games in that list that I don’t have are actually very cheap and due to the MD/G sturdy plastic boxes can be found in good condition…

Prince Mirage you also seem to have a rather interesting if somewhat limited collection is nice to see that some of the Suikox crowd appreciates more types of games than RPG’s.
Hmm I noticed that other than Ku’s entries there’s a lack of old school handheld games. But myself other than some GB stuff I don’t have any.
As for the expanse of my own collections is going to be rather grand whenever I get the time. Currently planning a great sort-out of my collection and later detailed data categorizing, when I’m through with that inventory mess I’ll probably try to expand GameSpot’s game list to eventually have all my games listed in there (if not all versions).

I admit I have have a lack of oldschool handheld games, but I've never really been a handheld gamer. I have a Game Gear and a couple of games, but Game Gear is kinda suck so I never include it.

They were some good titles on the Game Gear and I intend to track them in the future problem is actually tracking down an actual Game Gear console in good condition and fully boxed. Many have heavily scratched screens or burned pixels.

Well for starters Mortal Kombat II and Sonic 2 both my favorite from the MD/G releases of both series and both I lack in my collection right now…
Which is very sad for me since those games bring a lot of nostalgia of the 90’s in my earlier years.
Comix Zone I used to own a PAL copy at some point with the Soundtrack that came along but I think I sold/traded it back in the day. I want to remedy that mistake now.
Gunstar Heroes, Dynamite Headdy, Vector Man were all games I wanted to play at the time and never got the chance to either because I couldn’t find them or afford them.
Alladin for pure nostalgia only (I was crazy about the cartoon as a kid) Ristar because again I missed it because I couldn’t track it down.
And the Earthworm Jim games. Oh how much fun they were! I used to play them in a friends house back in the day never owned them my self and now I want to.
MD/G games that I want but you don’t have in your collection is Maximum Carnage (Red cartridge I thought that was soo cool at the time) and the Toejam and Earl games best cooperative fun I had with any game ever!
I’ll be looking for PAL editions to keep my nostalgia more authentic.

I have a pretty big shelf can hold all of my games. I personally keep all of my cd based games in 3-4 100 cd wallets.

I don't want to start up anything that would lead to people(me) being labeled as all sorts of negative things as there's no need for that, but I'd like to know what someone would suggest(nicely hopefully) I should do, since apparently my "collection" has to be specially labeled... Sorry this is a bit off topic and feel free to take this discussion back to the other thread but I'm not going to change my ways just to please someone else, so I'd really want to find out what would be considered as the "proper" thing to do to those that dislike what I do.
I will first and foremost say that if when anyone else see something of value that they wanted for a very low price or free, they would rather just get what they need and pass the rest of it up when there's no limit or proper ethnics involved, than they are a bigger person in that respect than I am. If I can afford it, I don't normally pass up the chance to get something I wanted, that's just how I spend my money and I'm not going to feel bad about it. I have no problem admitting to that and it's why I may have more of certain thing than I need, however I don't feel it's right to sell thing to anyone I don't know for more than what I paid which is why usually I keep everything I buy, yet I will be more than happy to give away what I have for free to anyone I do know if they need it, but to me those opportunity rarely ever comes about.
I'm not going to change what I like to do just because someone else don't like it, so I will still do whatever I feel like doing; and just as I'm not going to judge anyone else's actions in their own lives too negatively in public, I think bashing me as a person because how one may view this subject differently from me will just be a verbal feud that leads to nothing but a waste of time so lets try not to go there. With all that said I can understand why some disapproves of my collection but that's just what a "collection" means to me, I'd like to hear what those that dislike me for what I do would think is a good reasonable solution as the "right" thing for me to do when collecting: sell extras for profit just so others will own it? spend time seeking out good people to give them to? own games just so I can say I have it?...
