|
|
I kept an ongoing list for ages of all the bands I'd seen live and then lost it, so I spent a couple hours digging up dates and opening bands for every show I've been to and finally I have it finalized. I'm posting it up here as a backup/for something to brag about. Feel free to do likewise, though it seems I'm lacking in fellow music nerds here.
Based on my means of tallying it I have been to 83 shows between 256 unique bands for a total of 309 performances as of October 17th, 2008. That breaks down to 217 in Texas, 68 in Pennsylvania, 25 in California, 2 in Ohio, and 1 in West Virginia. These are listed by the number of times I've seen them alphabetically, with the dates on the right:

Well, unfortunately I haven't kept a list such as the one you have, so all I have to go on is memory. As such, I also don't really remember dates--and I don't remember the names of a bunch of openers either. Anyways, here's what I can remember:
Code: |
Beck
Chevelle
Dave Mathews & Friends (w/Trey Anastasio)
Deathcab for Cutie
Disturbed
Fiona Apple
Flogging Molly
G. Love & Special Sauce
Gomez
Jack Johnson
Kiss
Matt Costa
Primus
Street Dogs
System of a Down
The Black Crowes (twice)
The Coup
The Decemberists
The Killers
The Mars Volta (twice)
The Raconteurs
Tom Petty and the Heartbreaksers (twice)
Yard Dogs Road Show |
Strangely enough, all the ones I've seen twice (except for Tom Petty, who is awesome) were by accident, as they were opening acts to other people I wanted to see. In fact, there is a few bands there that I'm not really fond of, but went because I liked one of the other bands that was going to be there, or because some other people wanted to go.
So, that's 23 bands spread out over 7 events that I can remember going to--two of which were two day festivals. Of course, I could be a liar and say I heard every band that was at those festivals, but I won't.^^
Also, I know I'm missing some people, but they are mostly crap bands that I can't remember the names of. _________________

This will be a very short list. I'm not much on going to see bands. Laziness counts into this a lot, and I don't go to bands that I've never heard of, aka bands that don't get any normal radio time. I have only seen Metallica back when they had just released Load, and I've seen Poison. Yes, the Poison of the big hair, Every Rose Has Its Thorn. That Poison. That ruled :D _________________

I've only seen 3: Nickelback, Puddle of Mudd, and 12 Stones. Hey, nothing much comes around here and it's expensive. :(

Weird Al Yankovich, when I was 12. That's all. I don't listen to american music much, and J-pop concerts are hard to come by IN AMERICA. _________________

I've seen a decent few bands/artists/groups/performers in concert, especially when I was younger and my parents sent me off with Bible Camp to the concert festivals, which were both good and bad at the same time, depending on what happened, really. I've also been to more coffee shops and private venues than I can count, and some of them sucked, some of them were pretty nifty.
A few that I've seen:
-Avalon
-Blink 182
-Breaking Benjamin
-Stephen Curtis Chapman
-DCTalk
-Five Iron Frenzy
-Amy Grant
-Hinder
-Korn
-La Rue
-Liquid Jungle
-Mighty Mighty Bosstones
-Newsboys
-Nine Inch Nails
-Peelander Z
-Rob Zombie
-Scarecrow and Tinmen
-Sevendust
-Skillet
-Smalltown Poets _________________

I've only seen The Aquabats live. I'm not really comfortable around large groups of people I don't know, I only went because my friends begged me. _________________

I've only seen a handful, sadly.
Iron Maiden
Rob Zombie
Mastodon (rather, I had the ticket...but waited for the headliner)
Watch Them Die (classy name, huh?)
Citrus...I mean Crisis (seriously, worst band ever)
3 Inches of Blood (Canadian speed metal)
Exodus (40-year-olds moshing isn't my thing)
Um...my parents forced me to go to Tim McGraw a few years back. Sorry...
I could've seen NIN, Dick Dale, KMFDM, Gwar, Municipal Waste, RX Bandits, Killswitch Engage, as well as a few other groups, but I didn't get in touch with my friends in time. _________________

Weird Al Yankovich, when I was 12. That's all. I don't listen to american music much, and J-pop concerts are hard to come by IN AMERICA. |

I have seen many bands live, since I love concerts and enjoying them.
Some bands users here might know that I have seen live include:
Breaking Benjamin
Godsmack
Soil
Saosin
Senses Fail
Green Day
thats all that I can think of at the moment
I also go to a lot of local band concerts and roadie for 2 local bands in my area so I see a lot of local talent and some of these bands in my opinion have some good potential to be great bands on day. _________________
