well, I guess we can talk about what kind of 'lands' we want to see.
snowy places, jungle places, more desert places, tundra or taiga.
It could be a good topic if we let it, how it can effect plot.
I'd like a Suikoden with the main character hailing from a 'coldish' place, somehwere that would be like um, well somewhere 'cold' here. _________________ few runes short of a set of 27

I would love to see a more rugged and northern terrain in a suikoden game, with more emphasis on mounts and resource foraging. I think that would be considerably more interesting than a generic plains and fields area. _________________

I don't recall yet seeing a truly desert place in a game--besides that one place in Suiko5...but it was such a small place...I don't really count it personally....
Oh but hey an ice-y place/town would be neat too  I mean...with Suikoden 4 being all tropical-ish and all they should explore a game set in the "other side of the thermometer" so to speak....Mmm....characters dressed in nice furry coats...... x3 _________________

Hmmm, I don't think I've ever seen the swamp-type region used before. _________________

I'd definitely like to see a frigid land of snow and ice. |

If it was set in a land of snow and ice, we could have an ice castle! Snowmen manning every parapet!
Anywho, Suikoden has to have some sort of frigid area, unless the world there really is flat like Templeton hoped, in which case there's no need for climates I guess. _________________

Hmm... So far, we have:
Suikoden 1: An area quite like Germany
Suikoden 2: Fertile plains
Suikoden 3: Grasslands
Suikoden 4: Islands
Suikoden 5: Mixture of 2 and 4
I'd then like to see either an icy region like Greenland, a desert somewhat like Tinto or an equatorial climate. _________________

Well I obviously want to see huge plains.
Another thing I want to see are more cultivated lands. Or maybe something like the lands from Le Buque of Suikoden III _________________

I would like to see an urban city type of terrain that mixed in pre-modern architect with desert regions and possibly an Ancient Rome/Ancient Greece type theme. _________________ ~ Humbly walk the path of death

Maybe it could be a hellish, rugged, mountainous area where life is to a very minimal, although I was thinking that may not work because you need to make alliances and such and if there's no one there to join forces and such, then there's really no point to Suikoden without anybody in the games. _________________ IN AMERICA! |

Deserts or snow and ice for me. We have yet to see much of either, with the exception of Sable, Tinto, and the mountains in Suikoden V. _________________ ard says:

I like the idea of ice but the jungle would work very well. There could be a lot more guerrilla warfare like a real liberation movement if we were working with a jungle area. _________________

Yeah a guerilla warfare type area like the jungles and such would be cool, but icy tundras and thunderous mountains would be cool as well. _________________ IN AMERICA! |

If we were considering geography and how it affects the country's economic policy, an extreme in infertileness would make for a good story because the nation would be pressed for resources. Just my thought.
It could even be a war-torn wasteland! _________________

Ice wouldn't be bad... Mountains wouldn't be bad, either. Icy mountains would be just great... especially if we throw a random moose into the mix. ^^ _________________
