Who here likes Millenia or Elena better. In comparison, who is the better of the two and who do you like more? If you are Ryudo, which one would you choose to become your lovely-wedded wife and what are the reasons for picking her from the other? Anyway, my choice is Millenia because she has personality unlike the boring"We must have something to believe in" Elena.

I think you missed the end part of the game where Elena actually didn't need to believe in something to live. She was happy just singing to make people happy.

Well in the end she said something stupid that the world has a 'heart' and said that if you try really hard, you can 'feel' the voices of your loved ones even if they were far away from you. Anyway, i would pick Millenia over Elena any day, because Millenia is fun and lively to be with, while Elena is too naive and at times, quite irritating and obnoxious. Besides, Millenia really knows how to pleasure a man :P . So in my opinion, Millenia makes a better wife than Elena.

The Grandia series is alright. There not incredible games that you totally get into like Suikoden or Final Fantasy. The story lines are kindof weak in all of them. Grandia Extreme kindof got screwed because it was released on the Playstation the re-released on the PS2. Well that's how it went down where I live anyways. Grandia is just so plain and seems kindof rushed. The dialogue sucks in some parts and the voice acting is moderate at best. They have soem interesting characters like Skye and I forget her name she's like the evil version of the girl character in Grandia Extreme. The character development and skill systems are pretty cool and stuff. The battle's get repetitous in all of them though and it gets to be battle after battle and things. All in all the series is fairly solid and if Grandia 4 comes out I'd probably rent it.

I thought the original Grandia was a great game especially for its time. It delivered decently in many aspects. The graphics were done nicely enough for me as it does not take much for me to enjoy cartoon-esque graphics. It had a lot of puzzles to solve (never really a problem, especially with a walkthrough!)

I liked the good assortment of spells you could acquire throughout the game and the simple traditional stat system. However it did get annoying to level up sometimes though considering the amount of experience points need later in the game. Nothing new for most RPG's I suppose...

Grandia 2 was even better than the first in my opinion. It featured improved graphics (which is a given being on the PS2 when the last was on PS1). The voice acting seemed pretty decent to me as well and dit not get on my nerves all the time like in some other RPG's. I got this game real cheap at the time so that factor is always good. This game did not get many outstanding reviews from a lot of people but I am glad I can form my own opinion and ignore 1/10 reviews and actually give a game a chance before condemning it entirely.

I have not had the chance to play and of Grandia Xtreme yet, though I do own it. I just already have a long list of RPG's (and non RPG's at that) to play before I give it a go. I hope that this game did not kill the series and that some day (PS3 if it has to be that long) we get a Grandia 3 and that the ‘third time's a charm' principle comes into effect. Well the first two were great as well but you know what I mean.

*Edit* And now I just noticed Blackjack's post about Grandia 3. Cheers for that, it is good to know. Perhaps it shall be Grandia 4 that graces us with its presence on the PS3???

Grandia III

http://squarenet.gamigo.de/main.php?site=sn-news

On some German site I saw linked from another board. Haven't tried looking for English coverage. Chances of it making here are probably pretty good... Square-Enix is pretty big and likes to publish its pretty games. Grandia III definitely ranks as a pretty game.

WOW!! I never actually thought that Game Arts is actually making Grandia III. All this while i've been doubting the possibility that a new Grandia would come out. And with Square Enix publishing it, you could expect this to be a killer game that could possibly sell millions of copies and surpass Final Fantasy XII in terms of sales and popularity :D .

What system do you guys think Grandia 3 will be released on? Since the article said the Japanese version would probably be released by the end of this year, does that mean this will be a PS2 game? If yes, than we should all rejoice because we won't have to wait for the PS3 to come out to play this game  .

I hope this will be the best Grandia game ever.

That's good to hear. First Phantom Kingdom (sequel to Phantom Brave), Suikoden V, now Grandia III. I can already feel my wallet shrinking.

Anyway, I looked at the three character designs for Grandia III. Design-wise, the hero and heroine look pretty clean-cut and generic, especially with the hero having the typical adventurer's attire. Then again, the Grandia series' main theme is the journey, whether its Justin going east or Ryudo escorting Elena to the temple, or whatever happens to this guy. The heroine looks like a combination of Feena and Elena with the whole adventurer theme with Feena plus the 'peace and love' crap that Elena spat forth.

The third guy really perplexes me with all the blood covering him and the neutral look in his face. Is he supposed to be the villain or the 'brother' half of the rag-tag sibling team mentioned in RPGamer? I can't see him as the brother. No way, Jose.

Now if Game Arts came out with Lunar 3, that would really add to the RPG revival boom.

When I had Sega DreamCast (very briefly, for like 6 months) I picked up two really promising RPGs; Grandia II and Skies of Arcadia.

I decided to play through Skies of Arcadia first, and I have to say that I loved it. The environments, the music, the intrictely complex story, and the characters of course. I spent about 4 months playing this game alone. I don't like it as much as Suikoden III and LUNAR, but it comes pretty close to my top 10.

After that I had to focus on some schoolwork for a while (high school is no joke) and some social stuff, so I lent my dreamcast to a friend who I haven't seen since. Why would someone go through all of that trouble just for a system that three months later was out of production? Some people have no foresight.

I didn't play either of the Grandia Games, but I wanted to, and maybe one day I will. I think the first one is a PSX game, so I'll get it after Suikoden II.

Oh God that would make me so happy...Lunar 2 was without a doubt the most fun I've ever had with an RPG...I actually cried near the end, and I NEVER cry because of a video game. Plus, I got that nifty Ghaleon punching-puppet with the purchase *punches random people* :P .

Grandia III being published is unbelievably good news. All I can hope for is that the idiots responsible for the atrocity knows as Grandia Xtreme are fired. If the game is half as fun as Grandia I, I'll be playing it for a long, long time.

I hope Noriyuki Iwadare( the man that makes the music for the previous Grandia games ) makes the music for Grandia III. His music rocks!

I hated grandia 2, alright I enjoyed the game but I have a huge grudge against any game that gets released then crashes, just after I get Tio it won't go any further making it absolutely impossible to complete. Bloody UbiSoft deserve my everlasting ill-will for releasing a flawed product and then no patches to allow me to correct their mistake, not that I should have to.

There I am getting fully into the game I get a new character who seems pretty good and then Roan's dad's sobbing away and Roan walks out towards the door then bang. "No more grandia for you!" says the game. I was very disappointed.

But hey maybe I got off light since some people are saying it goes downhill from there. Well anyway that game's inability to be completed puts me off the series for life, damned rubbish publisher.

I can at least console myself it only cost me a fiver.
