Gabocha's Recruitment

Is there any particular reason we don't get the recruitment notification from him? Or is just to show how he's sneaked into the army? It's just one of those things that bothers me occasionally when playing Suikoden II.

I'm guessing nothing is known about it at all, but still, it'd be interesting even for the slightest bit of information.

Well i always thought is was because he 'sneaked' into the HQ without being invited.

Yeah, when I first played. I wasn't sure if he joined or not since I was so use to the notification. I had to go back to HQ to check.

Yeah, gabocha is rather annoying in that respect. I'm not sure if it's a bug or if they wanted to imply he did sneak onto your castle.

But the one I always wonder about whether he joins or not is Marlowe.

I'm in agreement with everyone else with this. He's sneaking into the HQ. Marlowe is another who confuses everyone, I think.

Yeah, Marlowe is a complete mystery until you see him in your headquarters.

Gabocha's recruitment is sneaky, apparently. That's why they didn't give you the message. You had to check the HQ to see if he was there.

Marlowe's another one, too. You'd just be surprised he's standing there.

Amelia does this too I believe. I remember only talking to her when the story calls for it and not speaking to her again. When you get back to Greenhill I said, well I can get her now, but when I went to the school she wasn't there. I was a bit upset because I believe I had missed her. Then I happened to notice this large building at the castle so I went in and there she was. Even when I do speak to her to ask for help, Riou doesn't do the little recruitment dance.

Meh, I don't really care much about Gabocha sneaking into the SoD line-up without being informed of it. Well, other than the first time I experienced it, that is. I initially thought I was lacking some Stars of Destiny because I was counting the notifications I received. Then I looked at the tablet of stars and saw that Gabocha was in there. I was confused at first, but then I realized that he joined me without me knowing about it. It's not much of a big deal to me.

I agree with Ryusei. It really isnt a big deal. I mean it doesnt really matter whether we are notified or not.

Ridely also does this. He just appears at my castle after the Two River events, but for some reason, Maikai doesn't. It never made sense to me. And Krin and Juppo in Suikoden 1, they get recruited even though they seemed like enemies (or at least antagonists) when you met them before. Neither gave any reason for joining, they just appeared at the castle as recruits.

Oskar does the same things as Gabocha in Suikoden 4.

Yeah, Oskar sneaks on with Deborah, but they don't tell you that he's aboard and it's a complete unknown until you see him on the ship. I HATED that.
