Hum... let's see...
I'd like to see greater interaction with the castle. I've always loved watching the castle expand and become, well... populated. I adored the castles in Suikoden II and Suikoden V for that reason, and I rather liked Suikoden III's castle save for the fact that you never really got to 'repair' it. The mini-games are okay, though some of them are incredibly difficult (I'm looking at you, Egbert!).
I'd really like the farming aspect to be expanded on. Of course, I'm a Harvest Moon fan, so maybe I'm a bit biased. However, I think it'd be really neat to be able to interact with the fields more instead of just handing a guy some seeds and he plots a tiny vegetable garden that's apparently able to feed an entire army. :P
I'd also like the cooking contest to return, and perhaps to have a cooking mini-game associated with making the food. Assuming they don't make it too difficult, anyway. I liked how in Suikoden II, you could earn money based off of the menu. Wouldn't it be neat to be able to run the restaurant like that again? Not just deciding the menu but also decorating the restaurant itself, and even staffing it! Like some SoD have certain stats that are helpful in some areas but make them horrible choices in others. For instance, Gremio'd have a high cooking skill and thus would be a good cook. However, Nanami's cooking skill would be horrible. :*laugh*:
Of course, I'm sure none of that is realistic... but this thread is asking what we want, not what's realistic~!
On the more realistic side, I'd like alternate costumes. I liked how the Suikoden V hero's costume changed occasionally, but I want the ability to pick what costume to wear! While that's almost like customizing, it's more limited to essentially outfits created by the designers. I do think this is possible, as Harvest Moon does it all the time. The main character in Harvest Moon: Another Wonderful Life has roughly ten outfits you can choose from to wear, and all of the cutscenes reflect whatever it is you're wearing at the time. If they can do it, surely Suikoden can. |
