I dont really know what I would vote for besides the four given wonders of the world, The pyramids of Giza, Stonehenge, The Collisseum, and of course the Great Wall of China. These four are a given, however the first being the pyramids, should in reality not even be on that list, because it's called the sever NEW wonders of the world. As it is cateorized on the original list, which I can assume they wont be disregarding, it should still be considered on the old one. The other three are clearly the biggest shoe ins for the list, because they are the ones which have garnered the most attention over the ages. Easter Island would more than likely fit into the place of the pyramids all things considering.

I dont know much about the other wonders, so thats what I would say deserves it, and the rest really is up to you. I thought the Great Library of Alexandria was one of the ancient wonders of the world, must be my imagination though.

Well here are my choices for this thing.

Christ Redeemer: I will admit I'm going to be a tad bit biased in this since I was raised as a Christian. However few things I believe are as remarkable as a statue dedicated to a man who dedicated his life to helping the people.

Great Wall of China: This is an easy shoo-in for a new wonder. Since it can be seen from space, a feet not matched by any of these other wonders, the wall is one of the easiest to recognize symbols in the world. If this doesn't make it in I would be very surprised considering the sheer amount of work that was required to build this magnificent wall.

Kiyomizu Temple: I don't know much about Japanese history, but I do know a tad few bits about this place from some books and mangas I've read. It has some extremely interesting history behind it.

Pyramids of Giza: Also another shoo-in like the Great Wall. They were already an ancient wonder of the world and being the only one of them to withstand the tests and trials of time makes them seem even more epic compared to it's competing wonders.

Statue of Liberty: This statue gave hope to countless immigrants and is the most recognizable symbol of American history. Though history might have been the same without the good lady, a lot of immigrants came to American and this statue best symbolizes the diverse culture America would eventually develop.

Stonehenge: One of the most mysterious locations on the planet, even with modern technology such things as Stonehenge still remain beyond our understanding. I voted for this one because Stonehenge is one of the most mysterious things on the planet, and everyone loves a good mystery.

Timbuktu: I like that old saying.

Interestingly enough I have to do this for my Spainish homework. I was planning on making a topic about it, but I saw that Moon Knight beat me to the punch months ago. Here are the wonders that recieved my votes:

Statues of Easter Island, Chile
Got my vote becuase of their mystic. We still don't know why they were put there, I think its worth my wonder.

Great Wall of China
I don't feel that I need to explain this choice. Its size and the time that it was built speak for itself.

Hagia Sophia of Istanbul, Turkey
I think this stands as a cool looking building and as a great symbol of Christain and Islam coexsistence that I hope can become a global state.

The Kremlin and St. Basil's Cathedral of Moscow, Russia
Worth my vote for its asthetic uniqueness.

Petra of Jordan
I just find it to be neat how it's tucked away inside the cliff face. Plus, it was in Indian Jones

Stonehenge of United Kingdom
Similar to Easter Island, it's unknown to us how they created Stonehenge when they did. For that reason it's a wonder that they did it at all.

The Taj Mahal of Agra, India
How could you not? It's gorgeous.

Really, the Pyramids of Giza should just be given an automatic spot on the list and be exempted from being voted on. No architectural structure today can compare to the Giza Pyramids. Hell, even with modern construction techniques such a structure would be near-impossible to accomplish. The same goes for the Great Wall of China.

Well, the ceremony was today (ended just a little while ago).

Here are our 7 New Wonders Of The World:

- Chichen Itzá (Mexico)
- Christ Redeemer (Brazil)
- Machu Pichu (Peru)
- The Coliseum (Italy)
- Great Wall of China (China)
- Taj Mahal (Índia)
- Petra (Jordan)

Well, I can't argue with any of those in.
Oh, and the announcing of the Statue of Liberty as one of the 20 "finalists" came in with a chorus of boos. The United States really aren't popular around here.

The fact that the Pyramids is not on that list pretty much disqualifies this new list of the Seven Wonders of the World.

I heard that the Pyramids are honorary wonders by default. So don't get too upset, Ahhnold.

Yeah, I've heard about that months ago when the Cairo Museum and most Egyptologists called foul. I still think the compromise is a tad half-assed in placating those who see the Pyramids of Giza as true wonders that do not need to compete to be called a Wonder of the World.

Of the new seven picked I really think Petra, Taj Mahal and Christ the Redeemer I don't see too much of a wonder over other candidates like the Statues of Easter Island, Stonehenge and Angkor Wat. The first two having being carved and moved by a primitive culture with little or no advance technology (for their era) to create and move the massive stone blocks. Angkor Wat I see as being similar to Chichen Itza and Macchu Pichu.

I actual think the compromise was pretty ok. Considering there the only wonder included in the orginal list to survive it should automatically be included. Not to mention it would still be pretty hard to create another pyramid even with modern day technology.

I consider it half-assed since to many who don't pay enough attention to the news will automatically think the new seven wonders of the world will be the ones which one and in that list I don't see the words pyramids and/or Giza in the same line. While I applaud the reason to create the list and the role of the organization in regards to preserving important places in the world I still think if they really wanted to truly legitimize the event they should've automatically made the Giza pyramids part of the list and voted to get six new wonders instead of seven. What we have instead is seven new wonders of the world and one wonder of the ancient world.

I think it would have been better to leave Giza out completely. It's the single surviving wonder of the ancient world. Let them keep the title...Giza is the only one that can claim it anyway. Frankly, being called a wonder of the ancient world trumps being called a wonder of the modern world.

The Banaue Rice Terraces are not on the new ones.

These new Seven Wonders lose.

Why is it that the overpriced hotel/resort/casino bought by the prince of brunei not included. I mean the sheer idiocy that prompted him to think that that particular piece of real estate was a world wonder in itself. The world is odd.

I find it funny that an extremely ancient infrastructure in peru would qualify as modern.

I would prefer Giza is put in there somewhere, instead of being left in some void. The Great Wall of China to me is on the same level of "wonder" as the Pyramids, but that is included for some reason.

Oh well, it is a good list.

The Pyramids being left off does suck. I voted for them back in December... when were they taken off? >_> I don't understand why they were taken off, I think nearly everybody in the world would have been more than happy to re-include them.
