Oh my! You're unbelievable Falenan boy. I didn't see this post anywhere. Anyway Merry Christmas to all!!! Let's see about 28 days from Christmas in Phiippines time aka pasko na naman time? Hahaha... Well, Christmas let's see what I'll do. I'll most probably play somewhere one or two gigs with my bad with christmas songs revised to our own style maybe? I don't know? I'll most probably visit some close friends and give gifts which most probably I'll buy before the visit. I am too forgetful to buy it on an earlier date. After that, it would probably be my christmas date. I'll probably sleep on the next days because I bet the teachers will be pushing requirements hopefully, the teachers will have mercy on us. I mean it is Christmas right? After that, it will most probably be December 24ish. I'll visit the orphanage I used to volunteer for and maybe visit my students (its sort of a program in my school) give them gifts and all. Wait for Christmas eve and for Santa Claus (Even how old I am, I still believe in Santa). My parents will wake me up and we'll go meet up with our relatives. They talk boring stuff because most of my cousins are at least 10 years older than me so it sucks. Oh ya probably I'll go to a few parties along the way. Basically, I think it will be boring but who knows it may not be boring right? _________________

Christmas is great and all, but for whatever reason, i'm just not feeling it this year (i had the same problem last year as well). I mean i don't even want anything for chistmas, which means either i'm content with what i have or there's nothing i "must have".
Its not for lack of trying. I helped put up the tree this year, watched the cheesy chistmas specials, and nothing is really doing it for me. i guess i lost my christmas spirit. :( _________________

Aye same here, I'm helping put up lights (because ze roof I'm awesome at climbing), decorations and I'll be helping cooking on Christmas Eve and Day, yet for the actual day itself I'd much prefer to simply sleep through it when I'm not doing something because it seems just another day.
Maybe I'm just dreading the shit TV schedules... _________________

Honestly, I have no idea what we're doing for Christmas. Either way, no cooking for me! :D I kinda don't like the tradition of open gifts, see pretty shiny new things, uh-uh you can't play wit dat! You gots to go to Grandma's or to your aunt's. I'm sure we'll go through this whole thing again this year...Why did we have to stay home for the one holiday I like going elsewhere for?! _________________ The immortal chickens shall rule the world!! |

I personally love christmas. I love it for all the wrong reasons though. I love the presents, lights, santas, and christmas music. I also love it because it means a break from these ridiculously hard law school exams. Call me a victim of commercialism and a slave to big business, but hey i enjoy it. _________________

Even though Archy says that it's too early, tons of advertising here has been made for Christmas specials and deals.
But i find that it is way too early to be talking about Chrsitmas at this time. When it is past December 20th, then i'll be wishing everyone a merry Christmas and a happy New Year. I think that everyone should wait at least until December for the hypr to begin. It's onlya couple of days away. _________________ Guardian of Greenhill & Devoted Protector of Oulan

Revivin' this a little (after a week~ish) as I've put up both of my tiny trees in my room this past week with a little help sifting through the stuff in the holiday storage room.
I love Christmas, like, a lot. It's got such a nostalgic feeling that's generally warm and extremely comforting. I've always spent my Christmases at home with my family and this year shall be no different. Simple and non-complicated, but my mother's German roots cause her to go all-out and Christmas festivities never last for just one day. _________________

I used to feel much the same when going home for Christmas was just a matter of hopping in the car and driving for 3 hours. These days, what with having to work on Christmas every other year, and being 1500 miles away from home, I've kinda developed a Scrooge/Grinch mentality. Christmas just doesn't feel all that special anymore. I mean, getting gifts doesn't do it for me, because I buy myself all the stuff I want year round anyways.
I guess on the times that I'm around for Christmas, I do get a good meal over at my aunt and uncle's place. Granted, I have to pretend that I'm still semi-religious, although I think my aunt pretty much knows I'm not. Still, that's easy enough to do, and I do enjoy a good meal that I didn't have to cook myself. _________________

I know how you feel Sailor Sexy. Christmas has become a pretty low tone holiday for me, and the only point I look forward to is is possibly seeing some part of my family. Of course the closest of my family is over 1200 miles away, so it's rarely an opportunity.
I used to like Christmas a lot (Who didn't?) because I would get a bunch of neat stuff from the parents and sibling, but once I got older and had money of my own Christmas lost it's sway. Anytime there was something I wanted, I bought it. There was no waiting involved.
Stupid growing up and loosing a freaking cool day. _________________ It is a blurred line that lies at the edge of Godhood and Insanity. Guess which side of it I am on. |

Well I just got back from Las Vegas a few days ago and pretty much was gonna stay out there past the 25th......but my Ma asked if I could be back for dinner at my Grandpa's on Christmas Eve since I missed last year....for the same reason of being in Las Vegas, its like my third year going near the holidays so its more routine for me and my fiance.* sighs, its Christmas Eve today so gotta get ready in a few hours now tsk *
I don't care much for gifts I don't need much honestly or shop much anymore, just please don't give me a gift card thats all I ask of people. The cards always just sit there in my room unused for the course of months some may have expired since I don't run to use them and eventually forget I have them. Straight up cash in a card is my favorite thing to recieve or a nice cologne, or if ya really wanna impress me.....anything to do with video games or cooking lol. _________________

Now that the day is done (for most everyone), what did you guys haul in?
Joy Division - Closer (reissue)
Black Rebel Motorcycle Club - Baby 81
Incubus - The Morningview Sessions (DVD)
Guns & Roses - Greatest hits
Chrono Cross - Original Soundtrack
A wickid brown hoodie from H&M (with matching hat)
10 pairs of extra large socks
6 pairs of boxer-briefs
A pretty neat bright yellow Columbia button up
A bright green Quiksilver tee
A shirt from West 49
Dockers
A Dandy Warhols tee (The italicized items haven't arrived just yet...but I have a birthday in a week so they'll be here)
$50 Sunglass Hut gift certificate
Nintendo Wiimote with Nunchuck accessory
Some hair product
Axe 3
$300
I also have a few small things at my Aunt's house, and we're all going over there later. Overall it was an excellent haul, one of the best in recent memory. Here's what I got for everyone.
A Team Canada Hoodie and IIHF approved Nike Jersey (My sister)
BBC's Planet Earth, a Kurt Cobain tee and a Case of Beer (My dad)
A nice blanket (My grandma)
A hair styler and $50 Sears gift card (my mom)
A Toronto Maple Leafs Mug and Keychain (my uncle Pat)
Elvis Costello - Greatest hits and Tool - Aenima (my cousin Jared, kid needs to start listening to better music than Fergie and Gwen Stefani)
Entourage - The Complete First Season on DVD (my girl...just something small)
Merry Christmas everyone! |
