Regardless rumor or not, I feel the same like some others in here that it being on Wii will definitely change the gameplay to a way that isn't as traditional as we would wish. I wouldn't want Suikoden similiar to Kingdom Hearts type of style neither, not that I don't like Kingdom Hearts however it's just NOT Suikodeny in my opinion. I want to wait every turn before a enemy hits me ya know. ;) The PS3 or possibly maybe even the Xbox 360 can somewhat assure us the Suikoden we all came to love regardless of its hefty price for a PS3. Ah whatever its just a hope now since as you said Suikoden VI isn't in production yet so tsk I guess. _________________

I don't see why people feel this way, if it is on the Wii then it can remain turn-based in the classical Suikoden fashion quite easily. Being on the Wii doesn't mean it has to make use of the Wii-mote, it could use the classical controller or GC controller.
While it makes sense for it to be on the Wii (given the large market and lack of RPG options available to it), I personally won't be buying into any rumors untill we get solid confirmed evidence. |

For North Americans perhaps, I cringe at what PAL regions would have to endure if Konami pick the only damn console with region encoding on their software to release to regions they still could give two shits about.

Xbox 360 has region coding too, though it's not used in all games. No region codes in PS3 is a nice bonus though.
However, Konami would likely handle Suikoden VI for Europe pretty much the same as the two previous games, releasing them a few months later than the US version. A little unfortunate maybe but not the end of the world. |

One thing I don't get : there was an interview published here just a little over a month ago. It was clearly written that Konami wasn't working on a new Suikoden title right now. And it's been widely spread.
So why all those rumours all of a sudden? Do you really think that Konami started a new game in this end of year period?
OK, working does not necessarily mean planning, but for that very reason, I find it hard to believe right now. And I don't understand why people who have probably read this interview give now so much credit to rumours... _________________

It was pretty much agreed that Suikoden VI is most likely already in development, but he just wasn't allowed to say it yet. Read this editorial to see why. These kinds of situations are common, for example with Silent Hill 5 and A. Yamaoka. Even the producers often can't acknowledge the development until the company gives the go-ahead. |

I think Sami's right when it comes to this. Look at how vague Matsukawa was during that interview. Plus, he had some nice things to say about the Wii. Coincidence? Perhaps, but time will tell. Personally, I'd be excited to see Su-Wii-koden. ;) |

Suikoden VI was apparently at a gamers day conference recently. Should be announced soon. _________________ She knows stuff. |

Konami don't have a Gamers Day scheduled, Nintendo don't have one scheduled. The rumour is supposedly from a new issue of V-Jump which isn't even out yet. No-one can seem to find the original thread on 2ch which supposedly sparked all of this in the first place.
What people are expected to believe thus far, is that an apparent source within V-Jump leaked a small rumour (and what an incredibly random and obscure one to let slip) before the magazine comes out this week. This was then found on 2ch, even though no-one can find it now, and helpfully rerouted to us English speaking types via GAF. What is more, luckily Himuro has a handy source who tells him secrets which happens to corroborate this haphazard sequence of events. Now, that has been enforced by talk from an unscheduled, unpreviewed, unreported Gamers Day that has spontaneously popped into existence today.
Something is rotten in the state of Denmark.
Hey, it could all be true and then us sceptics would sure look like mugs but right being a sceptic also seems like the only reasonable option given the current state of affairs. _________________ One day, I shall come back. Given that these claims cannot and apparently will not be verified until the next V-Jump I'm going to go ahead and make sure no one post here until then to avoid any unnecessary posting on what is essentially nothing at this point other than Himuro's comments without any intention of elaborating. _________________

Yep, a false rumor spread by some doofus in 2ch. This happens very often, and if you're a frequent visitor at 2ch you'll be able to tell fake (joke) rumors from real ones. Apparently some easily fooled person took this false rumor too seriously. |
