Thomas, a hobbit? Hahahah, fair enough!
This is amazing!
C'mon, someone write me a little verse about the Sindar!! or even a little Teresa acrostic!!
No ballads? There are so many events like the fall of Gregminster, the Zexen/ Grasslands war!!!
Tch. I would have offered little rewards, but I don't have anything to give (I'm even soldier-deprived myself)!!!
Come on, come on! and Happy New Year!!!!! |

I can't say I've written any ballads, but I'll try to think up something and post it here. I don't think it's something I can make up on the fly like haikus.
Happy New Year to you too! :) _________________ ~~Harmonian Tenhei Star~~

"For Sierra"
Dear...
We've been together since when I don't remember
Through everything, both Joy and Tears
Then where are you now?
Now, together with the spirits you are
The shiny radiant left in my chest is still warm
Take me with you, I can't be alone...
I'll take your welcoming hand...
But, I am living "now"
I also lead a bumpy life, I knew it very much
But I still doing the best that I could, like you were before
I see you in my dream yesterday
And I give thanks in the brilliant lights of fate
For the warmth left in my chest, the vision of dancing with an Angel
The silence of the streets and light of the ages are for you
When I woke up, I feel a cold gust of wind
were I to ride the wind beneath the sky I'd feel fate is drawing near
And someday could see your smiling face again
So I'll pray... _________________

A winter in muse
I walk in the city alone, full of hustle and bustle.
Enveloped in lover's kindness,
winter visits this city a bit too early.
As night come I continue to walk
The trees beneath the stars and the clothes behind the glass,
Would they suit you well, I wonder?
The flour snow dropped on my clothes
the pure whiteness as it cleanse the world
But I'm still here...
While walking by I notice your smile as you pass by
For another someone? oh well...
the fallen leaf pass by my shoulder
as the distance between footsteps increase.
I'll keep walking
So I could see your smile again,
just like this right here... _________________

Straightforward and simply sweet, Goblin Phonologist!
Schala, that's impressive. To be frank, I think I like this one even better than your first one! _________________ Luna Nova is a *he* |

Washing through the day,
Clothes fill up the whole alley
I'll join your army.

/bow.
I knew those haiku lessons would come in handy someday.
There's a slew of good stuff in this thread.
I like threads like this. _________________ Goblin Phonologist readies Bomb Toss.

Yeah, I learned it in third grade, and out of all the things I learned in third grade, writing haiku was the only thing that got my attention.
Other than that, I would have rather played dodgeball. _________________ Goblin Phonologist readies Bomb Toss.

Ballad of Karaya
"The roof... the roof... the roof is on fire...."
:D
Ugh, writing ballads is tough business. I promise I'll get something done and share it, hopefully something like "The Sacrifice of Kiba" or some other heroic event.

I don't mean to be an anus, but your first line has 6 syllables, making it inelligible to be a haiku. What you got is a 3 line free verse poem that is trying to become a haiku! Heh, just letting you know! _________________ ~~Harmonian Tenhei Star~~

That isn't much of a problem. He (or She) can twist that line a little bit. Make it 'Walks in the Rune Shop...' for instance, or something similar, and it will be okay. |

Suikoden ~may the saga lives on....~
canta per me ne addio
Along with the withered road
I place my sight at the distant scenery
And somehow I love even the violent wind
gently I was smiling....
The buried tale...
may it be shines with light and despairs
So someday, the black and white memories,
It will enlighten...
On another time, another place
may it gives birth to a new dawn...
inter ovas locum
voca me cum benedictis _________________

That's fine. We all know the rules for writing a haiku. Goblin made a little mistake, but like Sarah said, that can be changed easily, to make a full-fledged Goblin haiku!
Schala, your lines are.... genuine (now I can't think of any other word to describe this sort of thing). The second one is the best one, then this one then the first!! That's what I think.
Since you could write these, I'm sure you can now very well write a ballad too!!
I like this.
(..What happend to my former accompanists? Lunarblade, Ajora, Masaya and Njord?
I request new haikus (or whatever the plural is))
