Red beat me, I really should have waited until after our matchup to answer his questions on how the yahoo system worked, I would have stood a better chance. I've slipped from first to third in two weeks so I guess this could be a big game against Scarlet, I've lost to both of the guys ahead of me so it'll be interesting to see where I go from here I think. I'm contemplating some trade ideas but I won't reveal anything more than that at the moment because I'm not done thinking about how I want to take things.
In the other league me and Blasphemy are in I whooped someone 10-0 but that was mainly because his goalies only played 2 games total (Bryzgalov even got a shutout and it didn't count), as a result I automatically won all my goaltending matchups despite Raycroft being terrible and Nabokov and uh, the other guy I've got, Gerber had average times this week.
Anyway here's a little commentary on the results of last weeks games because I've got nowt better to do at the moment.
Phil's Flyers - 2
Red's Sabres - 6
Red picked up the GWG category and kept his lead safe in the others and managed to beat me soundly when it came to goaltenders. I only got him on wins there but those stats came close to each other. He had huge PIMs and had 29 difference his way in +/- (him on +19 me on -10), bad loss for me.
Fuji Flakes - 8
Scarlet's Devils - 4
Miller kept things close getting a shutout and two wins, Ward despite poor numbers put up two wins too so Scarlet's goalies between them did alright, maybe he'll look at Gerber who's just been put out there by Red, Ward gets more starts but he hasn't hit form, who knows. Blasphemy's team has been pretty monstrous so far and continues to do very well for itself only losing out on GWG and +/- in the player categories, they're weren't far from going his way either.
Locke's Rangers - 3
Edmonton Oilers - 7
Big change around in the scores in this from if you check back to my last post, I can only assume those changes Lonelion made helped a whole lot in setting things right for his team since they upset the Rangers. Brodeur and Luongo's great play certainly helped, 3 shutouts combined between them this week obviously gave them great numbers for Lonelion's Oilers. _________________

They did indeed make a difference, just goes to show you how sometimes players do well or they struggle,i seen Dion has a dtd by his name, what happened to him,i'd hate to keep him out of my line-up when his team is playing tonight, but if he's hurt i've got no choice.
I've got Blasphemy's squad now, tonight might be rough for me without Dion in my line-up,he's been doing good for Calgary too. _________________

Phaneuf has flu, he should still be playing tonight though apparently (I'm getting this from the TSN site who say he's "probable" for Monday's game), you could check some calgary local news sources and then you'll know for sure before you set up your lineup for the night's game, or just adjust if you alredy set it up assuming he would be out for the game whatever. You might still have time, I'm not sure, those western games do start later and yahoo only locks your choices a little while before games are scheduled for faceoff. _________________

Too late now, who ever has Forsberg will be happy he got 2 goals tonight,my flyer players got nothing,i see Andy Mcdonald has a point so far for Anaheim,my player there is pointless so far,Dion's played over 9 mins so far tonight in a scoreless game so far.
I peeked at the sports ticker on our pools website and seen the scores, good luck to everybody tonight i hope someone gets something for me tonight with my luck it'll be Dion who gets something and i can't put him my line-up now(rats)!
PHI 3,CHI 0 TOR 4,ATL 2 ANA 6,STL 5 (FINAL IN SHOOTOUT) WASH 4,CAL 2 L.A 4, NYR 1
All scores are now final talk to everyone later. _________________

Last weeks scores:
Phil's Flyers - 7
Scarlet's Devils - 2
This match was probably a bit closer than the score makes it out as, we drew on goals and I won the assists categry by about 5 I believe. Scarlet had terrible +/- at -11 and I managed +1, it's been a rare occurence to have my team in the positives. Our goalies split wins at one each, we drew on wins and shutouts Scarlet took save percentage and I took goals against average.
Fuji Flakes - 3
Edmonton Oilers - 6
Lonelion with the upset here, the Oilers took every forward category except the tied SHP and GWG ones while Blasphemy made his points on the goalies where neither team had a shutout but Blasphemy took the rest. I think this match up is pretty clear cut really, the closest thing was really the shot numbers 106 for Lonelion and 103 for Blasphemy.
Locke's Rangers - 9
Red's Sabres - 1
Wow, Red took a beating after defeating me the week before. In fairness to Red I think his number of game winners beat everyone apart from Locke who's team managed a high 5 to Red's 4. Both teams put up 1 SHP as well which can often be enough to be decisive but the category tied, the only thing Red won was goaltender wins despite his combination of 3 goalies putting up worse save percentage and GAA.
This weeks matchups:
Phil's Flyers - 4
Fuji Flakes - 3
I'm only two points in total behind Blasphemy's lead on the league so this is a pretty big game for me and it hasn't started too badly. Gomez and Redden on my team are both still DTD though so I might find myself a little short on personnel if they have problems. Neither teams goalies have played just yet, I've got Turco and Lehtonen up against Kipper and Vokoun. Obviously given the choice I'd prefer to have his guys but maybe mine can make an upset, it just depends on who has a good week there.
Locke's Rangers - 0
Scarlet's Devils - 7
Scarlet off to a decisive lead, he had a lot of players going on the first night of this new week of hockey. Locke has had a few guys play and they did put up numbers (7 points between 5 guys is decent) but Scarlet managed a couple more in each category. Again neither teams goalies have played yet, in that category there's a rematch of Ward against Roloson.
Red's Sabres - 4
Edmonton Oilers - 4
An even start and neither team seems to be too far ahead in any category, I'd take that Brodeur/Luongo tandem over Reds three men any time but again it depends who gets hot for a week. That said Brodeur has put up a .950 save percentage through one game which is pretty solid and thanks to the two good goalies who play a lot of games Lonelion is able to field another forward. Still two of his forwards are Carter and Richards who I'm sorry to say only have 5 and 3 points respectively which is pretty awful. _________________

haha! I agree with lonelion, good work man. My forwards let me down unfortunately but I got lucky that my goalies did well. Despite their name appeal, they aren't really doing too well. According to the "head to head" stats, my team has been horrible in Short Handed goals, and not faring too well in assists nor +/-. My goalies haven't been winning either.
I hope to have my +/- helped out with the waiver acquisition of Vanek who plays that coveted RW position. Hopefully he can help in all other aspects too. SHP on the otherhand is tough. There are only really a few that are good choices, but getting them is tough. I was hoping Brad Richards or Patrick Elias could do it, but they aren't.
Looking forward to next week's update Exile! _________________ ______ "We're still flying"

I've got Red's gang,he's crafty so i'll have my work cutout for me,welcome back Blasphemy,i was fortunate enough to get luck on my side the last couple weeks against your team and Locke's team.
Both my Philly guys need to step their games and start showing the skill, they did coming into their pro careers, both can do alot better than their stats show them doing, key vets are going to get hurt it's their jobs to step in a big way and they know it too. _________________

I've been kicking tail the last two weeks, now that I've got the hang of the system and have been keeping on top of my line up every day. I was beating Blas 11-0 last week and I'm now up 8-2 or something on Phil so I've got a good handle on the system and now I'm gonna take you all down.
That or my guys will all run out of steam. _________________

Forsberg needs a better fitting skate...Yeesh. I have that in this league, in an NBA league I have the whole Iverson mess. And in the NFL league here my team is afraid of the endzone. _________________ Legendary Locke

The endzone can be a scary place. There aren't anymore numbers in there... it's the abyss. Is it the 0 yard line? The -10 yard line? I don't know!!
Wow, I fell from 1st to 4th at the hands of lonelion and with Scarlet smoking me the week before. This league is tight though. First and fourth are separated by 4 points. I need a big week against Locke. _________________ ______ "We're still flying"

What happened i haven't been on-line in a few days because my phone service was shutoff it just got put back on today,i guess my players did their jobs,in my absents awesome, i'm glad things have tighten up a bit now it's going to be a real battle between the top 4 teams maybe 5 and 6 can bounce back and make it a 6 team battle again.
Blasphemy must of hit a big dry spell to lose that lead he had on us in the standings, that just goes to show you how these pools can change in an instant, good luck to everyone this week to quote the old famous line"Game on"!! _________________

They can definitely change. I shot from last to second in two weeks after a couple of good wins. I need to pull out it against Locke though. _________________
