Lyon or Miakis

I'd choose Miakis over Lyon any day. Personality wise, her humor kept me laughing ('specially the scene with Euram) and not to mention her 3 free rune slots >:D

For this poll i voted for Miakis for a number of reasons:
1) She's got a better personality than Lyon.
2) She's already got a shield rune attached to her.
3) She can have a better attack power than Lyon if you sharpen her weapon and put her into your party more often.

I like Miakis too, but she made a big failure. Why she let Lym be used. She is her guardian, so she should protect her.

Miakis is one of my most favorite characters in Suikoden. I haven't ever heard of anyone who doesn't like her. But unfortunately... her legs are too fat.

I chose Miakis.

She's one of my fave characters in the game, I couldn't wait until I could put her in my team, and kept her in my team whenever I could because she rocked.

Her scene with Prince following their duel is the second most touching scene in the game, next to the Arshtat and Ferid scene.

And I love her outfit. If I ever cosplay I'd love to dress as her, Complete with purple hair.

I definately liked Miakis' weapon better. And the way she shouted "Prince!" in the combine attack was slightly more pwoerful than Lyon's. So I think that I'll pick Miakis.

I love Lyon but i chose Miakis. Although bstory wise

lyon was a plus, Miakis was just cuter. No, well, battle wise, Miakis just worked for me. Lyon only proves to be better in battle during the game's last half though.

Miakis hands down. Not only is she a better character battle-wise but also personality wise. Yea sure Lyon was a Nether Gate Assassin that's kindof badass. But Miakis is like crazy and i dig it. She makes off the wall comments and plays nasty little tricks on Lym. Lyon is kindof a wet blanket she's always got something to say and she's like creepy obsessed with the prince. Granted she's his body gaurd but it's more than that. Miakis is also the better character in battle she has the shield rune. Which is a very useful rune that helps out the entire party. She's gifted with magic and she has a decent attack. Lyon attack is slightly better but Miakis has a greater chance for double striking. Plus let's look at whose hotter miakis is and she looks cooler with the dual daggers. Better than Hugo did. :*laugh*:

I'll go with Miakis too. It's very easy decision as Miakis is better in every single aspect when compared to Lyon.

1. Gameplay Aspect.
Miakis has 3 rune-slots and excellent skills. Obviously better than Lyon's 2 rune-slots which one would be permanently occupied by the Twilight Rune at the end of the game. Miakis also has better stats as she can critical and multiple attack quite frequently while Lyon seemed to struggle in both. Last but not least, Miakis is more versatile too in a sense that she can be built as a magician and not just melee like Lyon. The fact that Lyon is mainly a melee character also made her Twilight Rune not as useful.

2. Personalty Aspect.
Lyon is B O R I N G. At the beginning of the game, she is this psycho over-protective bodyguard. At the end of the game, she is still this psycho over-protective bodyguard. Not much to see, eh? On the other hand, we see a lot of different sides of Miakis. We see her playful side (whenever teasing Lymsleia), we see her quick-thinking side (knowing that Lymsleia couldn't be allowed to see Zegai in the dungeon, she immediately came up with the ghost story), we see her emotional side (the revenge against Georg), we see her mature side (taking over Lyon's position as Prince's bodyguard when Lyon was injured without even the need for Prince to ask), etc. Miakis just offered tons more personality compared to Lyon.

3. Look Aspect.
I think Miakis just looks better than Lyon. The dual-dagger weapon is better than Lyon's pocket-knife for boyscouts. The blue color is also better suited than Lyon's pink (who would be intimidated by a Pink Queen's Knight anyways?). Also look at Lyon's GIGANTIC sleeves. Wouldn't that obstruct the movement? Come on, now. Miakis' clothes design is far better. Not to mention that cool golden chest protector that Miakis has. Just overally far better than Lyon.

Let's see, the cute character that's pretty likable and has a couple good stand out moments, or the even cuter character that's consistently funny and interesting? Yeah, I'll go with Miakis. She and Lyon should have switch places, IMO.

Wow...been a while since I posted. It's good to be back.

I am currently replaying Suikoden V, and this time around I'm realizing that I like Miakis a lot more than Lyon. To me, she is a bit like Geddoe, a good fighter with even better magic. I also prefer her personality over Lyon's, and a lot of her moments were some of the best in the game. I strongly agree with Flik_19's post, as I also found Lyon's "dedication" to the prince a bit unnerving. I know she has her duty and everything, but sometimes it's like she's treating him as if she always has to be there to hold his hand, as if he can't defend himself if something happens to him.

Lyon's past is interesting, but as a character she's just not my favorite. Also, before I was even 1/3 through the game, I thought, "If I have to hear one more male character gush about how cute she is, I'll puke." Lyon IS kinda cute, but she's not THAT pretty. Luserina, Hazuki and even Lymsleia were prettier than her.

I'd pick neither if that were an option, since I dislike them both.

But, I haaaaaaaaaaaaate Lyon, whereas I just generally don't care about Miakis. So, my vote went to Miakis.
