Suikoden I save data.

Im just at the end of Suikoden I with all 108 Stars and i am getting my save file ready for Suikoden II.

So i have a couple of questions;

1) What characters should i level up and how high so they will have good stats in Suikoden II?

2) What items, armour and runes are transferable?

For the characters, level up

Clive
Flik
Futch
Humphrey
Kasumi*
Lorelai
Luc
Pesmerga
Sheena
Tai Ho
Tir - obviously, but it's not like you have a choice in that one!

* Depending on which one you want to choose between.

I think that's as many as there is, but someone will probably remember one or two more.

As for runes/items...the only one I can remember is the Windspun Armour which can be found in Gregminster just inside the entrance to Gregminster Palace. Attach it to Humphrey and he'll have it when you recruit him.

A Master Garb and Silver Hat on Tir will also transfer.

No runes carry over, but most of their weapon levels will have an added bonus.

Speaking of which - at which save point is it that you have to save in order to transfer Suikoden data into Suikoden II? ;P I never personally tried transferring data from either game.

You need to have saved at least once at the final save point inside Gregminster palace for your save file to be S2-worthy.

I thought it was the last save point in Gregminster, but many have been saying that it doesn't matter where you save. It just needs to be in any spot after you beat Yuber in the major war battle.

It definately doesn't matter where you save, I saved with Marie after getting to near the end of Gregminster Castle, and everything worked fine, including getting Tir.

Yeah, he asked in Suikosource. http://www.suikosource.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=1199 and the sad thing is that the question had been discussed before in Suikosource as well.

I doubt that he did it to build up soldiers at all. For one, his post wasn't long at all. So technically, Fliktor would've gained even more soldiers than Goldmember. To me, he was just asking for help though I don't think it was necessary for him to ask the exact same question in two boards.
