[size=150:2a8736qk]It's a Zuu Out Here

[p:2a8736qk]This wasn't the first time in Glenn's career he'd wished he had the slightest inkling towards magic outside of his sword techniques. His flashlight missing, he'd stumbled about in the dim light emanating from the Zicron Blade for quite some time along this sewer-like corridor before rounding a corner just soon enough to see a monster blown to bits.[/p:2a8736qk]
[p:2a8736qk]"I think we may need to cross this room," Glenn said to a Logan still regaining his composure.[/p:2a8736qk]
[p:2a8736qk]"Bad idea," Logan blurted out, still catching his breath.[/p:2a8736qk]
[p:2a8736qk]Glenn looked up at the blades dangling in the air. Yeah, this way didn't look promising, but "around the corner there's nothing but a hallway stretching on for miles," Glenn pointed out. "The other side's a dead end, just a wooden shack."[/p:2a8736qk]
[p:2a8736qk]"What corner?" Logan asked, tilting his head to the side a bit.[/p:2a8736qk]
[p:2a8736qk]Glenn turned around to see a big open hallway indistinguishable from what he'd been walking down, but the corner he'd rounded to run into Logan was gone. "The walls are shifting," he stated. "I really don't want to go back down there though."[/p:2a8736qk]
[p:2a8736qk]Logan just shrugged and pointed towards the blades above him. "It was getting too easy anyway," Glenn continued, and ducking and jumping as best he could to not trip a wire and bring an axe down into his head, he successfully made it to the other side, where a new door awaited him. Logan reluctantly followed. Through it they found only another hallway.[/p:2a8736qk]
[p:2a8736qk]Nowhere to go but straight ahead, the two carried on for a while until a faint light appeared in the distance. That feeling of overwhelming irritation adjoined to any futile task built up in Glenn with every step. He knew where this was headed. Sure enough, there was the house he's first recovered in. The light was seeping out from where that monster had splintered part of the wall.[/p:2a8736qk]
[p:2a8736qk]"Did you search the creature you fought in there?" Logan asked as they came up on it and Glenn stared disgusted at the building.[/p:2a8736qk]
[p:2a8736qk]"...No. It doesn't matter. This isn't the right way. We'll have to walk the whole way back. Maybe we'll only have to walk it once, if we're lucky. I doubt that though. Who knows, maybe we have to cross back and forth a dozen times before something changes," Glenn whined.[/p:2a8736qk]
[p:2a8736qk]"There's got to be something we're missing along the path. Maybe a hole in the ceiling or something," Logan suggested, a bit more rational than his supposedly seasoned companion.[/p:2a8736qk]
[p:2a8736qk]"Or maybe there isn't some clever way out at all and we're just going to die here," Glenn stated, somewhat cheerfully all of a sudden it seemed, and walked into the shed.[/p:2a8736qk]
[p:2a8736qk]"Hmm?" Logan followed after him wondering if his own advice had just been hijacked.[/p:2a8736qk]
[p:2a8736qk]"There's a key. It was in his pocket." Glenn held it up into the light. Logan stepped aside as he walked up to the unlocked door behind them and put it in. They slowly began to open the door once again. ...It now led outside.[/p:2a8736qk]
[p:2a8736qk]Without a further word the two headed out. It was eerily quite outside. The clouds blocked out so much light that they could barely see the ground in front of them, and there was no wind nor any sound at all. Glenn pulled a compass out of his pocket and began to walk north. There was no way to tell what they were passing, though their path was not blocked until they came up behind a man kneeling on the ground.[/p:2a8736qk]
[p:2a8736qk]"Krivin?" Glenn whispered.[/p:2a8736qk]
[p:2a8736qk]"Shhh... it's coming back."[/p:2a8736qk]
[p:2a8736qk]Then there was wind, and a great deal of it. Everyone covered their ears as a terrible screech filled the air. Fumbling for a moment, Logan shot his flashlight up in the air, and in the short stream of light they could all make out the ghastly figure of a bird, pitch black and the size of a tractor trailer truck, hovering over them. It wailed once more and dove towards Logan, at which point Krivin jumped up from his kneeling position and launched a blast of ice out from his staff. The bird reared back for a moment and then turned to him.[/p:2a8736qk]
[p:2a8736qk]"Glenn, give me a hand here. You, run!" Krivin shouted out. Glenn tossed his compass to Logan and held his sword up above him. The beast was already swarming down upon him.[/p:2a8736qk]
