[size=150:28ze21q0]Back Together Again

[p:28ze21q0]As Glenn's cab pulled up in front of the Freedom Fighters headquarters a rush of memories flooded in. The people he'd met here and the events that resulted had completely changed his life. To think he'd once planned to retire from a comfortable strategic job in the Ki, and now he spent his free time training with a sword. Speaking of that, it ought to have arrived here by now. He'd pick it up inside.[/p:28ze21q0]
[p:28ze21q0]Marcus Lizar, Eddy Watts, and Kevin MacIan all greeted him at the door. "Glenn! How was your flight?" Marcus asked as they each shook hands.[/p:28ze21q0]
[p:28ze21q0]"Fantastic," Glenn replied. It was nice to see some old friends again. The four of them stepped inside as he asked "Who all else is here?"[/p:28ze21q0]
[p:28ze21q0]"That's it so far. Gades and Cid ought to be arriving later today to provide transportation, and Andrew is going on ahead of us with Alex," Marcus replied.[/p:28ze21q0]
[p:28ze21q0]"He's bringing Alex along?" That came as quite a surprise. The kid might be powerful, but he was only five. Andrew must have quite a lot of confidence in his abilities. The group scaled a metal staircase and entered the main command area, most of which was empty. A few cluttered work stations and a large wall-mounted screen stood in the front, while the glass-paned left wall overlooked a small runway.[/p:28ze21q0]
[p:28ze21q0]"Make yourself comfortable," Marcus instructed. "There's coffee and snacks in the corner. It'll probably still be a few hours before anyone else arrives." Glenn took a seat and watched the crew get back to the task of packing up.[/p:28ze21q0]
[p:28ze21q0]Observing the group Glenn got to thinking. Of those who'd be participating the lot of them did have one potentially exploitable weakness - an affinity with light. Andrew, Marcus, and Alex were all related and at least the first two shared the same powers. They were some of the final survivors of the planet Lizar, the result of Hunt's rather destructive space program. Lizarians were almost identical to humans in every way save that they each possessed an inherent elemental power. In the case of Andrew and Marcus that was light. Andrew furthermore had been a child of prophecy, perhaps the most powerful Lizarian to ever live, capable of channeling incredible energy. Indeed, that may have been the only reason Hunt spared him and his brother.[/p:28ze21q0]
[p:28ze21q0]The Lizarians were not the only ones to share this elemental ability. Watts was a test product of Akigiyama - a normal human who had been genetically altered to possess powers similar to the Lizarians, a distant result no doubt of the numerous tests Hunt had run on Andrew in captivity.[/p:28ze21q0]
[p:28ze21q0]Kevin MacIan was the only normal guy in the bunch besides himself. Well, he was probably more 'normal' than Glenn considering he didn't walk around with a sword strapped to his back. Kevin had found himself a member of the Freedom Fighters during their efforts against Anikonio III and proved his worth as an expert marksman. While Janus and the mystic Kali Ventrue were missing in action, rumors that Anwyn Ganymede might be joining them suggested at least one able-bodied mage in their midst.[/p:28ze21q0]
[p:28ze21q0]"So who's going to stay behind to man all this?" Glenn asked after a while.[/p:28ze21q0]
[p:28ze21q0]"At least for the time being it looks like Watts will stay behind," Marcus replied. Glenn nodded; Watts had often taken on that task during prior missions.[/p:28ze21q0]
---------------------------------------

[p:28ze21q0]A few hours passed before Glenn heard the sound of propellers over head. "Looks like Gades is here," Watts announced to the room.[/p:28ze21q0]
[p:28ze21q0]"I wonder what he's flying these days," Kevin commented as the group stood up and made their way outside.[/p:28ze21q0]
[p:28ze21q0]The airship that hovered above the ground appeared to be in a state of disarray. While any airship was a rare site to behold, this one didn't seem like it had been well maintained lately. Even the once bold "Enterprise IV" painted across the side was fading. It seemed odd that Gades would let such a thing slide. After all, the vessel was only three years old.[/p:28ze21q0]
[p:28ze21q0]As there was no actual room to land such a large vessel a ladder was lowered to the ground in front of them. Down it descended the two oldest members of the Freedom Fighters still around. Gades Short and Cid Highwind had both served the group off and on for over twenty years. Both nearing their fifties, they certainly weren't as combat-ready as they used to be, but the Enterprise never failed to be of use.[/p:28ze21q0]
[p:28ze21q0]No sooner did they touch down on the ground than a third body came flying over the side of the ship above them, completely disregarding the ladder. It hit the ground with a thunderous boom splintering the pavement below it. The lot of them were rather startled until the body lifted itself off the ground, brushed off the dust, and exclaimed "Hello!"[/p:28ze21q0]
[p:28ze21q0]"Robo!" Marcus and Glenn shouted in unison. This android had been serving on the ship for ages, and machine or not it seemed happy to see familiar faces. Of course not everyone was thrilled by this grand entry. Kevin still looked perplexed at what had just happened, while Watts muttered something about the new pothole right in front of the building entrance.[/p:28ze21q0]
[p:28ze21q0]"I told you to stay on board," Gades stated, more amused than annoyed by it, and then turned to the group and smiled. "It's been a while Glenn, Kevin."[/p:28ze21q0]
[p:28ze21q0]Everyone shook hands, the android not excluded. "So where's Andrew at?" Gades inquired.[/p:28ze21q0]
[p:28ze21q0]"He went on ahead of us," Marcus replied. "He should already be at the One Nation camp by now."[/p:28ze21q0]
[p:28ze21q0]"I'll have to apologize for the state of the ship," Cid piped in. "We've had to borrow a lot from her for our current project, but she's still hanging in there."[/p:28ze21q0]
[p:28ze21q0]"New project?" Glenn said.[/p:28ze21q0]
[p:28ze21q0]"Oh, you'll have to wait and see," Cid replied with a grin. Glenn couldn't help but return it. Cid looked mischievous, and Glenn had half an idea what he was up to.[/p:28ze21q0]
[p:28ze21q0]"Well, if you're all ready I'll go grab the luggage," Watts stated. The lot of them talked for a while until Watts walked back out. It was time to head out. Watts waved goodbye as Gades threw one of the suitcases over his shoulder and then got back on the ladder, the last of the group to head on up. He'd only taken on a few rungs however when he turned back around and noticed the thousand pound cyborg still sitting on the ground staring at him. "...Way to go champ." Ok, so maybe they wouldn't be leaving right away.[/p:28ze21q0]

NDR: Alright guys, as I understand it all of my, LK's, Jason's, Archy's, and Amyral's characters are either at the One Nation camp or on their way. This is where the interaction can really start. I suggest Archy and Amyral introduce their characters within One Nation before they meet the rest of us to establish a better understanding of their roles here. Everyone else, besides Red and Blue, know each other, so it'll be a standard reunion for the rest of us, granted Krivin will be interesting with his memory loss.

I know there are a ton of characters all in the same place now and that can get confusing, but don't be too concerned about leaving somebody out. There's no reason to assume they'll all stay bunched together the whole time they're here. There will be a fairly long interval at the camp before we set off after Tyne. We won't move in on him until everyone's ready. In the meantime I'll be establishing some lesser characters within the Croft and Reynolds camps that authors may choose to fall in with later in the story.

For the record, Gades and co are just dropping us off. They won't be sticking around.
