technically they are the same. i myself do consider warcraft as SRPG. brigandine in a sense is the same as warcraft only turn based
just so i can get my 2 cents in on a good SRPG. Fire Emblem |

Therein lies the distinction of terms. _________________

[quote="Goldy":3ujlopu9]Brigandine, is it worth $60+?
I have been looking to pick this up and Tactics Ogre for ages. |
Both games are quite awesome. I had no idea Brigandine is worth $60. It's a good thing I got it when it was much cheaper. The gold edition is even better...if you can read Japanese. |

You also have the Super Robot Wars series, if you like to diversify a bit from the "Medieval" SRPG's and have mechas attached to it. _________________ Tinto: Kicking Asses is our Speciality

Ring of Red for ps2 was kind of cool, if not too monotonous. _________________ "Into battle we ride

Personally, I think Phantom Brave is a really good SRPG. Like Disgaea (actually, moreso), it doesn't take itself so seriously, making it quite amusing to play. _________________

Front Mission 3 for PS1 is pretty good too. I have the game and every once in a while I still play it. Good thing you have 2 distinctive stories to play, which doubles its replay value. _________________ Tinto: Kicking Asses is our Speciality

Yeah $60 was the cheapest I have seen for Brigandine, there was one or two new copies going for $120+

i second phantom brave and would also suggest picking up La pucelle tactics for the ps2 or vanguard bandits for the ps1(if you like mecha/gundam) _________________

Same goes for me, FM3 is very enjoyable and every now and then i get a thirst to play it again. Would like to have played the sequels beyond it but they didnt get released in the UK. I liked suikoden tactics to a lesser extent. |

I've been playing Makai Kingdom. It's pretty good. Not quite as amusing as Disgaea, though, and it is a little harder to keep everyon in your team leveled up to where they need to be. Still, I'm enjoying it. _________________

Defense of the Ancients. It's a Warcraft III online scenario. Never played it, though. I believe it's more of an RTS, right? _________________

Sadly I think the SRPG line of games is one that is only really ever going to live on in Japan, fewer and fewer of them make their way over here. |
