EA Attempts To Buy Take2

Oh man I didn't even really think about the sports angle until just now... I just kept thinking that they are doing this to get GTA and didn't consider much of the other games. Boy it would totally suck if there's only one set of sports games each year, and if 2k sports is out, there would be only 2 non EA sports games that's worth playing each year: MLB from SCE and PE:Winning 11 from konami.

The GTA part won't even be worth it to them if they can't get this takeover acquisition in time before the release of GTAIV. Even if they acquire Take-Two but not before the release of GTAIV then they will have to wait a couple more years before they can fully take advantage of the profits they can get from the sale of another GTA title. This is the reason why EA has been amping up talk of hostile takeover with the release date of GTAIV looming just a month away.

EA wants everyone, they gobble up Simulation game companies and such now they gobble up and buy more sports titles.

If GTAIV doesn't even remotely reach Halo 3 numbers in terms of first week sales then Take-Two shareholders will be begging EA to acquire them just to get money back from their investment.
