How about... Muroon? As a beaver, he uses a wooden hammer. And the first time I saw his face, I thought he was a girl. Androgyny may be a question of personal reference, but that's how it worked for me. And hey... can you tell the gender of a beaver at first sight ? :D

She is the blacksmith in Suikoden 3 and has the "DIE HOT IRON" quote when forging, which is very hammer time... plus the lizards are virtually indeterminable genderwise and I thought she was a male for a long time.
