Not necessarily. It looks more like the article is about making multi-platform games, not supporting a single platform. _________________

Exclusives have been the name of the game so long I don't think Konami is the only one behind.
However, I don't think it has much to do with Suikoden. Suikoden will probably never be multi-platform; it won''t sell well enough to recoup the costs of porting it to every program.
To be honest, I think the lack of any one console becoming established as the dominant one is more a hindrance than anything else. _________________

It's true that Konami has usually made a version of their game just for a single platform, like Contra III for SNES and then Contra Hard Corps for Genesis, and Castlevania Portrait of Ruin for DS with Castlevania Dracula X Chronicles for PSP. Yet they have also had multiplatform titles such as Suikoden (PSX, Saturn, PC), Vandal Hearts (PSX, Saturn), Castlevania Symphony of the Night (ported to several platforms, especially as of late), Metal Gear Solid 2 Substance (PS2, Xbox, PC) and Castlevania Curse of Darkness (PS2, Xbox).
So while it is true that they have often developed a single game just for a single platform, they have also made some games multiplatform. |
