For the past few years, I've been going in to watch Pixar movies with as much guarded anticipation as I possibly could, because I just couldn't believe that they could keep making such wonderfully enjoyable movies. Well, I can safely say that you will most definitely not be disappointed with Ratatouille. Despite the funny name (which actually plays into a pretty important plot element) the movie is heart breakingly cute, but also manages to pull off a much more classy and much more funny sense of humor than any rated R or PG-13 movie I've ever seen.
It's hard to really call it, especially with Pixar producing some just really wonderful movies in the past few years (Monsters, Inc., Finding Nemo, The Incredibles)-- but I really do believe this may just be the best film that Pixar has produced. It really is that good. You can always count on their movies to be very cute, very heart warming, and have a nice story, with good characters. But Ratatouille manages to execute that all in an even better way, managing to incorporate even more classy, and sometimes adult humor, while keeping it a really family friendly movie.
I really highly recommend seeing this, I really enjoyed it. _________________

It is just breathtaking. Any of you who have been to Paris--there are moments when you know EXACTLY where they are, you could point it out on a city map.
It's beautiful and full of heart and masterfully done--with NO mocap. It's ALL hand-done. Leave it to Pixar to continue topping themselves... _________________

Eh, I might take my little brother to go see it. I am usually very impressed with Pixar's films. For a while, i was just sick and TIRED of the whole "computer animated talking animal" movies. They were producing at a speed that would make even a rabbit go
But, I do hear rave reviews about this so far. And, it isn't the millionth penguin one, so I should give it a chance. _________________

Yeah, the multitude of talking animal films is shocking. That's why the past two Pixar movies have focused on non-fuzzy animal protagonists. ^^ It's good to see them return to animals, but with kind of a twist. Rats aren't usually considered in the "cute and fuzzy" index, however Pixar does a good job of making the main character very lovable, despite how very rat-like he is. It's very challenging to make a rodent character that doesn't fall into the shadow of Mickey Mouse, but I think they succeed very well. _________________

That's true. They're shining light on a far less favorable animal. And I'm glad that the main character is being voiced by Patton Oswalt. He's a nerd, and his comedy act definitely shows it. I'm a huge King of Queens fan, so I've always liked him. From what I see in commercials, his voice is a perfect choice. _________________
