EMI removes the DRM from its downloadable music tracks

This I think is a massive step in the right direction, removing the Digital Rights Management (DRM) protection from their merchandise means that you can buy EMI tracks from any on-line download site and use them on any MP3 player.

I hope other record companies will follow their example.

What's your take on this and what impact do you think this will have on on-line music sales?

I think online music sales will generally start to climb after this announcement, I never thought record companies had the right to decide what we played our music we had purchased on.

Basically - keep it as the music and only the music.

I never use itunes but I prefer albums becuase Im a little bit of a collectamaniac, not the stealing type mind you but I do love having albums more than downloading stuff.

if i can get it for free somewhere else i'm still going to do that, but that's a nice step in the right direction i guess.
