I seriously doubt Suikoden 5 will be on the list. It wasn't as well recieved as Suikoden 3 was.

yeah there's no way in hell it will be, only 15 spots more 2-5 should go to sports: Madden, NCAA football, NFL 2k, NBA 2k, Winning 11. 5-10 for action: DMC, God of war & 2, RE4, one each of Jak and Ratchet, all 3 GTAs, both MGSs, bully maybe... 2-3 fighting: Soul caliber 2 or 3, Tekken 5, maybe a mortal kombat. 2-3 racing: GT 3 & 4, maybe a burnout or midnight club. SCE games: Shadow of the colosus, Twisted metal black, socom and RPGs: FFX, FFXII, shadow hearts 2, dragon quest, disgaea, xenosaga... plus give and take a few weird but fun games like Guitar hero or Katamari Damacy.

I think the ones in bold should be included no matter what even though I personally don't like alot of them, and I'm sure I'm missing some others too. Those already adds up to be over 15, and for GT, GTA and MGS it is just not fair if all major release of those series aren't on the list, which means many great titles will be pushed out because those editors have to act like big shots and include amplitude and rez... than again I'm sure there are people asking: suikoden III? what the hell? so it's pretty amazing and kind of those people to have included it at all.

Maybe at the end of this year when the PS2 officially dies down there will be a better list made somewhere, but I guess that will also mean unless the list goes up to 50 no suikoden game will see the light of day on it.

I totally agree with your statement the series really isn't well known and its surprised me that IGN actually liked Suikoden 3 at all, that must be some kind of miracle that has really surprised me.

You guys DO realize that Suiko III got incredible reviews in the magazine and such, right?

I'm not really that surprised. Suikoden III did pretty well as far as I know sales wise, and pretty good in reviews. Tech TV gave it a 5 out 5, IGN gave it 9.4, gamespot 9.1...I'm sure you get the point. Which is, Suiko III was pretty well liked by the critics, so I'm not all that surprised that it did well. Fans may not have cared for it because...uhm...I'm still not sure why it got mixed feelings from fans, but it was well received by magazines and such. I AM pleased, but not really surprised, at all.

[Fanperson] OMG, Suikoden 3 in top 25? Squeeee! [/fanperson]

Judging by what newbies said about the game, I'm not surprised that Suikoden 3 was recognized. I persuaded my friend to play the game and she liked it very much, so it must have been a good experience for her. After all, the aspects of the game that we like so much can be hard for new people to diegest at times.

#24 is a pretty good position for a mainstream video games website to be giving a relatively popular RPG like Suikoden, I think we should be happy with that, and happier with the facts that we are not blinded by our love of the series to continue liking them.

Ah, that might change the tide in our favor, might it not?
Still, although they might recognize Suikoden 5 as having the best storyline, if they think it fails in the other aspects (Blasphemy I tell you!), it might fail.
Please please, let Suikoden 5 get one place!

There's about a 1% chance of V getting on the list. The Suikoden "fan" who raved about III and probably got it on this list in the first place disliked V (solely because of its slow beginning of course). Also, they specifically say in the introduction that the list will be limited to one game per series unless a sequel was hugely innovative. V might be different from III, but I would expect to see Kingdom Hearts II or FFX and XII before a second Suikoden :(.

Still, if they do only choose one Suikoden, I'm surprised to see III on there over V. V may have some aesthetic flaws, but I think most fans would agree it's better than III (even myself, a huge III fan). Ah well, this list is as dependable as another man's review. It's only real purpose is "publicity."

It's a matter of opinion. Statistically, Suikoden III did much better comercially and it attracted many new players to the game, and that's a bonus point, even if it's acknowledged that Suikoden 5's poor sales had little to do with its flaws and more to do with a doubting fanbase because of Suikoden IV.

Yeah, no way Suikoden V is on the list, from Poorguy's statement, along with the fact that the next 5 were listed and SV is still missing.
