Yeah he just didn't have his footing in that fight I guess. The first time he slipped he got lucky that Rich (I think that was the fighters name I can't remember) didn't capatilize on him. He obviously didn't make the same mistake twice. Here is my corny theory as to what happened. Due to the amount of sweat and blood that was thrown all over the octogon in the second fight it made the floor really slippery for Ken Shamrock's fight.
That second fight was amazin though. Like I said it was the best fight I ever saw. Both of the fighters had nothing left by the time the fight ended, I wouldn't of. Man that fight really pumped me up though. I'm use to seeing the fights end up on the ground and it turning into who can get their opponent into a submission first. Ken almost got Rich into one, unfortunately it didn't work. I was rooting for Ken  |

I think the UFC did a real standup thing in offering the loser a contract as well. He put so much of himself into it that going away with nothing could have been very devastating to him. I think the UFC will benefit greatly by having both of them around. _________________

I'd wanted Forrest to win that match and had said he would win, but Stephan Bonnar really sirprised me and I was glad to see him get what he deserved. _________________

A couple weeks ago I went snowboarding with a girl whose brother is a UFC fighter. She said the head of the UFC wanted him to be on the TV show, because apparently he has a kind of cult following that would enhance ratings, but it would be against the rules because he is already a professional in the UFC. We didn't talk about it too much, but something I found interesting was she said he lets himself get pretty fat during the off season, and then two months before the season he trains like a maniac to get back into shape. _________________ "Into battle we ride

Just came back from Las Vegas where I witnessed UFC 56: FULL FORCE live at the MGM Grand casino. It was mega sweet, got to see the coaches of season 2, Matt Hughes and Rich Franklin fight. It was good times for sure. _________________ "Into battle we ride

Yeah that PPV went pretty much as I expected. I'm really hoping my Canadian homeboy Georges "Rush" St. Pierre gets another shot at Matt Hughes soon. I know he already lost a title fight to Hughes before, but he's honestly the only legitimate 170 contender out there, although Diego Sanchez is making great progress.
I was actually kind of surprised to see Nate Quarry get beaten THAT badly by Rich Franklin. I expected that to go a war, but Nate let me down. I really underestimated Franklin I guess, because I've only seen him fight twice and neither was too impressive. When he beat Ken Shamrock it was because Shamrock was way off his game. But oh well, he proved me wrong, good for him! I'm looking forward to David Loiseau vs. Rich Franklin whenever they decide to go for it. I can see the two Canadians taking home the Welterweight and Middleweight titles in one night :D |

Yeah Nate let me down as well, I thought the fight would last much longer and be much more even. And St. Pierre is doing well, he does deserve another title shot sometime soon. _________________ "Into battle we ride

Definitely. St. Pierre is the man! And don't forget about Loiseau, he has the best kicks, best elbows, and the best submission defense I've seen in long long time. His fight with Evan Tanner was classic! |

Thread resurrection!
Is anyone going to be watching the Ken Shamrock vs. Tito Ortiz fight tomorrow night on Spike TV? They have already fought twice, neither fight was close, Ortiz has dominated. The two fighters have a severe hate for each other, although Shamrock has seemingly become obsessed with trying to beat Ortiz.
Hopefully this will be the last time they fight, so that Ortiz can fight someone meaningful and Shamrock can retire.
Also, this Saturday is the next UFC pay-per-view, featuring the return of Rich Franklin. I am guessing the reason that the Shamrock/Ortiz fight is on Tuesday night for free is so UFC can shamelessly plug the Saturday night PPV. |

only reason why they are fighting again cause the way it ended in match 2. so the president dana white said that he felt like the fans didn't get their moneys worth and decided to give them it for free on spike tv to make up the way it ended in macth 2. _________________

I think he has a soft spot for Shamrock. If they had rematches on free TV for every match where fans did not get their moneys worth, then UFC would be going bankrupt.
Have you seen Cheik Kongo fight? He is one huge guy, with really fast legs/hands for his size. I would like to see him get a shot at Silvia soon. |

but here's one key factor. no one in the ufc has a grudge like shamrock/ortiz do. i just hope smackrock will at least put up a fight this time. _________________

Well, Shamrock got dominated tonight just like the last fight. It was quick, midway through the first round the ref stopped the fight. Tito and Shamrock ended on a good note, both respected each other for the way they approached their fights. Shamrock seemed as if he was giving a retirement speech. Tito said he wants to fight Liddel for the title.
Shamrock had a great career in the UFC. He is truly one the original guys that everyone will remember. He was dedicated until the very end.
Found out tonight the Cheick Kongo is on the card for Saturday night's PPV! If anyone gets the chance, watch him fight, he is huge and fast, and will be challenging for the heavyweight title soon. |

tito is fighting liddel for the lightweight title on december. the speech that shamrock gave is true. he is retiring. funny how you watched the show but yet you didn't fully listen since they easly said those two things more than once :P. i was surprised the way shamrock took this fight. he came in all calm and a bit of dancing sort of, which i believe we never seen him do that before a macth. shamrock's team said that this is the most calmed he has been before a fight which truly was a good thing but at the same time wasn't. good to see the fued between the two ended on a good note even though when shamrock got up tito flipped him off. i thought shamrock was gonna try to punch him but all he wanted to do was shake his hand and tell him some good things.

lol of course he is one of the original. he's been there since ufc 1 till now. and will continue to stay in ufc not as a fighter but prolly in the corner of his lion's den fighters.
btw matt hammel looked fairly decent. the guy has excellent take downs through out his match but his stand up boxing needs major work as he keeps his hands down low and that spining back kick that he received was a killer move as it gave him a dam good gash. but his opponets eye was way worse from those elbows hammel kept throwing on him.
kendel grove, just dominated his fighter. in the future i can see him holding the title in time. he will continue to get better and better. _________________
