Why is 'Sindar' spelled 'Cyndar' in Suikoden III

Is this an error? or is this means for speculation? Maybe they're two different races, honestly I doubt it, because I also remember in one or two of the games 'Silverberg' was spelled 'Silverb"u"rg'.

Bad translation, just as 'Southern City Federation', 'Victor', 'Flame Champion', 'Fire Bringer' and 'Northern Outlands' are the result of piss-poor translation/localisation for the game.

I see, I always liked the S3 spelling better though, it seems cooler though less logical.
